The fox is in the henhouse, but the watchdog lays silent.  

The Mainstream Media apparently no longer feels the need to even pretend to be unbiased. The Media’s actions lately are blatantly supportive of the left wing agenda and shamelessly submissive to the Obama Regime. I want to draw your attention to a few facts that you may have missed along the way.

Chris Matthews of BSNBC states that he got “a thrill up his leg” listening to an Obama speech. Did we really need to know that Chris?

Evan Thomas, Editor of Newsweek, states that “Obama’s standing above the country, above – above the world, he’s sort of God." Wow, good thing this guy’s unbiased!

ABC is planning to have Charlie Gibson deliver the World News from the White House? Will Charlie be the News Czar?

ABC will host a prime time propaganda special on Healthcare Reform from the White House.  The special will exclude opposing views and the audience will be handpicked by ABC. "ABCNEWS alone will select those who will be in the audience asking questions of the president,” ABCNEWS Senior Vice President Kerry Smith. So in other words they will pose only questions that support Obama’s plan for Socialized Healthcare? Is this the Soviet Union?

Nancy Pelosi, in the midst of a political firestorm over her attack on the CIA, declares she will no longer talk about it, and the story goes away. Did you get that? A politician tells them it’s over and it’s over; end of story? 

The media goes into frenzy over the killing of an Abortion doctor yet buries the story of an attack on a US Military recruiting station? They covered the doctor’s career, interviews with his family, friends and fellow church members. The same media ignored the fact that a young Muslim extremist, who had spent the previous year in Yemen (terrorist safe haven and location of the Oct. 2000 bombing of the USS Cole), opened fire on a Arkansas military recruiting station killing one Marine and injuring another. I guess there just wasn’t a story there!

Finally, we must talk about one more thing, the Iraq War. Remember the Iraq War? In case you’ve forgotten there’s still a war in Iraq. Why has the coverage of the war disappeared from the news? Where is that Cindy Sheehan nut case that adorned the headline of every media outlet? If the media even speaks of the US winning in Iraq it could hurt the Great Obama who was an outspoken critic of the war. If they speak of problems in Iraq it just might remind people that Obama is keeping troops in Iraq indefinitely. They tread softly, careful not to wake the sheep.

The unthinkable is happening right before our eyes. We are witnessing the Mainstream Media’s complete and total submission to this Regime. Throughout history the control of the media and the silencing of the opposition have been key elements of tyrannical governments. The Obama power grab continues. The fox is in the henhouse, but the watchdog lays silent.

   So how did we get into this mess?

JFK famously stated, “Ask not what your Country can do for you - ask what you can do for your Country.” This former President, although an icon of the Democratic Party, would be considered a right-wing nut job today. America now elects its politicians, not on the basis of how they can improve the nation, but rather on ‘what’s in it for me.’ Millions of Americans went to the voting booth in November to vote themselves a bigger government handout, a bigger piece of the pie. They swooned over a guy promising to take more money from those that earned it and giving it to those who didn’t. The media is still drooling all over themselves for a guy promising free healthcare for everyone. Our society has become overrun with people looking for a free ride, obsessed with the idea of getting something for nothing. What ever happened to working for what you have? In the past people worked and saved up for things they desired; cars, boats, a vacation, etc. today it goes on the credit card. Today, no one wants to wait for anything, they want it all and they want it now (sound like a Visa commercial to you?) Today, no one wants to take responsibility for their own actions. If they screw up they know the government will take care of them. Lose your job – unemployment check. Run up debts you can’t pay – file bankruptcy. Buy a house you can’t afford – government will refinance it for you. Can’t pay your electric bill – government will subsidize it. You can’t afford to feed yourself or your kids – food stamps.  You’re a permanent screw-up and completely useless leech on society – Government housing and a welfare check. This twisted sense of entitlement that permeates our society has brought us to the brink of financial disaster. Those of us who actually still work are becoming tax slaves to a government elected by the lazy. The dregs of society now have the ability to vote themselves a raise by simply electing the candidate who promises them the most. This system will eventually collapse on itself. The Obama Administration’s drive to add even more voters to government dependency is pushing our nation to the brink of bankruptcy. We are flat broke and running deficits that are simply unsustainable. Where will it all end; how can the taxpayers continue to support more and more people every day? I want YOU to think about this and form you own opinion. Go ahead; think for yourself, while you’re still allowed to.

Now for something completely different!  

    Biden says “everyone guessed wrong,” really Joe, everyone? $1.31 Million per job Joe, are you kidding me? Wow, how do you get a job like that? Remember not so long ago, when many of us were saying the Stimulus package was just “pork barrel” spending and would not create jobs? Now, even Joe ‘they make me live in the basement’ Biden says the Stimulus hasn’t worked. The promise of 3.5 million jobs has been replaced with a hope of 600,000? So they are spending $787 Billion to create 600,000 jobs? And we’re the ones who are nuts? They called the Tea Party supporters “right wing extremists” and labeled the movement as “unhealthy.” The bailouts we fought against have failed, the Stimulus we fought against has failed; yet they continue to spend with no apparent concern for the future. We were right, they were wrong; just don’t expect them to ever admit it, much less voluntarily change direction.

   This Regime is giving us plenty of political firepower; we have to make the most of it! We need to make this next round of Tea Parties HUGE! Have you found an event near you? I have 3 on my calendar and I’m looking for more! Yes, we know the groups are a bit splintered, please don’t let that stop you! Do you know of a Tea Party site I haven’t listed – send it to me! Want me to post a link or info for your local party – send it to me! Sitting on the sidelines got us into this mess in the first place, just how bad does it have to get before you get involved? Will we succeed in putting the brakes on this insane spending? I wish I knew, but I do know that yelling at the TV won’t do it (trust me I’ve tried!) Please find a Tea Party and recruit as many friends as possible to go with you. Please pass the word to everyone in your address book. Call up your old friends, tell your neighbors, tell your co-workers, tell your friends at church; we can’t do it without you!

Cyber Security at it’s finest!

The Iranian election results, thought to be close, were announced as a landslide victory for hardliner Ahmadinejad. As you may know, supporters of the opposition candidate took to the streets in protest. The Iranian government immediately and harshly cracked down against the protesters using tear gas and physical abuse. What you may not know, is that the Iranian government blocked foreign broadcasters, shut down cell phone and text message usage, as well as opposition websites. The Iranians used their ability to control communications to silence their detractors. Could this someday happen in America? Now think about this for a moment – Cyber-Czar. You may recall that Obama has asked for the authority to shut down the internet in case of “National Emergency.” The proposal by this Regime to create a cyber command is raising privacy concerns from all sides. Obama the Candidate blasted the use of warrant-less wire taps on suspected terrorists; Obama the President wants the authority to monitor and even shut down internet activity. I am not saying it’s time to put on the tinfoil hats (or take them off if applicable!) I am not saying that this proposal will have Big Brother reading your email next week. I am saying that this proposal opens a door best left closed. I am saying this proposal could have serious consequences. Little by little they are tearing away at our Constitutional freedoms. This is death by a thousand cuts. Program after program, they are chipping away at the rights of the individual.  When will we stand up and say enough? Please call, write, and email your elected officials. Please, find and attend a Tea Party or other political event. Please, decide once and for all not to sit quietly while they take away your God given rights!

So where do we go from here?

The news just seems to get worse with every passing day. The economy continues to crash, our enemies are increasingly belligerent, and our government continues to use this crisis to usher in Socialism. Back on April 15^th approx. half a million people took to the streets to protest the spending habits of this Regime; a good start. For the first time in many years, we put aside our differences and stood together for a good cause. So what happened? Where is the movement now? The original organizers have splintered into different groups; different websites featuring different rallies are everywhere. These groups seem intent on going it alone instead of working together to actually accomplish something. It seems we have returned to our own caves to focus on our own personal agendas. Guess what folks, small groups can only accomplish so much, and hiding in a cave will accomplish nothing. I meet new conservative bloggers almost daily with many of us focused on exactly the same thing. We all seem to have a lot to say about this self appointed messiah, yet we are all working separately. This brings me to my point today. Why are we working our tails off separately for minor results when united we can accomplish far more? Are the Dems smarter than us? Are the Dems just willing to work harder than we are? Please, we all know better. However they have been better at organizing than we have. So let’s change that. I’m asking everyone to send me a link to their favorite conservative sites, news sites, and most of all THEIR sites. I would like to link as many of us together in one place as possible. I am open to YOUR suggestions on making this effective. Have a better suggestion, please speak up! I hope to come home from work to find a mailbox full of links and suggestions. Take a few moments to peek outside your cave, and let me know what you think.

How long will the ‘Private Sector’ survive?

The tyrannical Obama Administration and its lapdog Congress continue to attack the principles of free enterprise. I am simply appalled that so many people are blindly supporting this march into Socialism. More regulations mean less freedom. The proposals by our left wing overlords to limit executive pay are in direct contrast to the principles of our capitalist society. America has always been a place, where regardless of who you are, your success was based on how hard you were willing to work and the sacrifices you were willing to make. Now, our big brother government wants to decide how much your company can pay you. Yes, the salaries of some CEO’s may seem obscene, but that’s for the board of directors and the stockholders to decide, not the government. I personally think our elected officials are over paid, but I don’t see them giving it back! The government wants to pick and choose the winners and losers based on their own bias. Big Brother decided, in direct violation of the law, that the United Auto Workers Union will get a majority stake in GM ahead of those greedy bondholders. The Bank of America CEO of is overpaid, but George Clooney can make millions a year for cranking out bad movies? Maybe the government should limit the pay of actors, musicians and sports stars!  Should the NFL be required to pay the Kicker the same as the Quarterback? Should Rosie O’Donnell earn the same as Jay Leno? America, long believed to be the land of opportunity, is fast becoming the land of entitlement. If you show up to work early, work extra hours, never call in sick, always go the extra mile, etc., should you be paid the same as the slacker next to you?  Is this what you consider fair? My level of success has always been dependent on my actions; isn’t that what America is all about? This interference in the private sector is just another step in Obama’s promise to redistribute the wealth of our nation. This socialist philosophy rewards mediocrity and failure while punishing hard work and success. Is this the America YOU want to live in?

Barack tells Congress to watch their spending?

     Barack Obama, the guy who is running up a deficit larger than all previous presidents combined, actually has the gall to tell anyone to watch their spending?  Barack urged law makers to pass ‘pay as you go’ legislation that would require all NEW spending or tax cuts to be paid for with cuts elsewhere. Sounds logical right? Well, this legislation conveniently contains $2.5 Trillion worth of exceptions for Obama’s pet projects including socialized medicine. Well, well; rules that apply to everyone except for the great all-knowing Obama. So if Congress wants to fund a new program, they will have to make cuts to other programs or raise taxes. Congress will certainly never cut into the social entitlement programs which dominate the budget, leaving the military as the only other large program they can cut. So which will it be, military budget cuts or tax increases? Odds are we’ll see both. Now remember, this legislation only applies to NEW spending, not the gargantuan spending already proposed by this Regime. So where will Barry get all the money to pay for his excessive spending?  

      Massive deficit spending and blatant socialist policies will be the downfall of this administration. How long will the American people go along with policies that threaten our nation’s financial future? How long will Americans tolerate the nationalization of private corporations? How long will Americans sit quietly while unemployment continues to soar? How long will foreign investors continue to buy US treasuries or hold on to the falling Dollar? Will Americans really accept a massive increase in energy costs to prevent the ‘Global Warming’ that most Americans believe is a farce? How long will Americans listen to the tales of an improving economy as it continues to get worse? Oil prices have now doubled since the inauguration, how high will gas prices have to go before Americans demand a change in Washington? How long will YOU tolerate the dismantling of our Constitution? In Barack’s own words, ENOUGH! Time to put these clowns on notice; we will tolerate no more! No more bailouts. No more social engineering. No more deficit spending. No more socialism! Will you get involved or will you follow the rest of the sheep to the slaughter? The honeymoon will come to an end and Barry will have to face an increasingly hostile American people. Invasion of the dirt people!

A large 'music festival' is coming to town and these small town folks are bracing for the SMELL! Yes, this particular festival attracts eco-nuts from far and wide. As the clunker cars, wildly painted vans and even a few old school buses roll into town, it is literally a parade of Obama bumper stickers. The weirdo’s have arrived! Among this odd collection of greenies and hippie wannabe’s is a group that truly defines the pure eco-movement. I am speaking, of course, of the dreaded dirt people. These folks refuse to take jobs with those evil corporations who ‘pollute our planet’ choosing instead to live off the government or their parents, sell hemp products or simply steal. These folks have a particularly strange habit, or lack of one; they refuse to bath! Yes, according to these folks, bathing is bad for you and bad for the environment. The smell will curl your hair. Yes, this smelly group of unemployed hippie’s rolls into town with their empty pockets and righteous indignation to save the planet. Last time I checked concerts are not particularly environmentally friendly, nor are the cars and buses that carry these self appointed saviors of the world. The last time these folks were here they chose to use people’s front yards as their ‘eco-friendly’ toilets. Last time they were here they left thousands of pounds of trash strewn across the farmer’s fields the show is held on. The last time they were here they left a smell that lingered for days. The real hypocrisy of the green movement becomes evident when you observe the behavior of their staunchest supporters. Will we actually risk destroying our economy to satisfy these people? I wonder if Al Gore will welcome them into his not so eco-friendly home?

Firearms and ammo manufacturers don't need a bailout.

        I’ve written about this before, but the situation appears to be worsening. Consumers looking to buy certain calibers of guns and ammo are finding themselves out of luck. This is shortage is not just a southern phenomenon as I previously suspected, but apparently a nationwide problem. I spoke with several people during my visit to the Chicago area this weekend who confirmed that every gun dealer, including Wal-Mart, has a waiting list and a one box limit on certain calibers of ammo. So why is this? I would like to hear YOUR theories on this. Is this driven by those “bitter” people clinging to their guns and Bibles that Obama spoke of during the campaign? Maybe, but if that’s the case, then I think Obama highly underestimated the number of such citizens. No, I think this is being driven by pure fear of social and economic collapse. Right or wrong, millions of people are preparing for the worst. Those of you who enjoy gardening may have noticed the reduced availability of vegetable seeds this season. You may have read about Kansas City trying to ban folks from raising chickens in their suburban yards. But have read about the boom in survivalist websites and catalogs; have heard about the booming demand for gold and other precious metals? Fear is running high and Obama has no one to blame but himself. Despite all the rhetoric of ‘Hope and Change, his election campaign, was designed to scare people into voting for him. Obama boasted that he would stop the Wall Street bailouts in favor of Main Street Bailouts, but his actions with the Banks and Auto Companies continue with disastrous results. He warned of an ‘irreversible’ economic spiral if he wasn’t elected. Well, he got elected and the downward spiral continues.  He boasted the ‘Stimulus’ would save or create 3.5 million jobs, but the job losses continue. Biden just stated that the administrations new push to speed up the spending of Federal Money (taxpayer money) would create 300,000 new jobs, what happened to the 3.5 million they promised? The fact that the economy is growing worse rather than better is scaring a large number of people. The Regime’s blatant disregard for the Constitution is scaring a large number of others. The continued nationalization of Banks and other publicly traded companies smells of socialism. His replacement of foreign policy with appeasement is scaring our allies, our military personnel as well as those here at home. The reckless deficit spending and the recent drop of the dollar are scaring many more. Obama knows fear is a great motivator, and his efforts to use it for political purposes are ‘coming home to roost.’ I usually end by telling you to contact your elected officials, this time I’m begging, please call them today. Stop this tyrannical administration’s blatantly un-American policies while there still something left to save. What would our Founding Fathers do?

                    The president continues to apologize for US actions while trying to appeal to the Muslim world. The president talked about the glorious achievements of Islam and its long history of tolerance. Does this guy watch the news? Yes, this fine open culture that accepts Honor Killings as an acceptable part of their society. Yes, this fine culture that sexually mutilates thousands of women a day. Yes, this wonderful advanced culture that treats women as little more than cattle. Yes, these nice folks that haven’t allowed Jews in Mecca and Medinah in over 1400 years.

    The president defended the Palestinians and demanded Israel cease new settlements. Should we be teaming up with team Palestine? Remember, these are the same nice folks that were celebrating in the streets on 9-11. These are the same nice folks that elected Hamas, a terrorist group, into power. Israel tried the land for peace deal; the Israeli government forced thousands of Israelis from their homes to appease the Palestinians. Do you remember how the Palestinians thanked them? They moved rocket launchers into the area to get a better shot at the Israeli territories.

    Read this guys words carefully, don’t forget those campaign speeches. This guy has the ability to make really bad ideas sound good.

Have we lost our national pride?

        The fall of Chrysler, the bankruptcy of GM, and the newly announced sale of Hummer to the Chinese are all major blows to America’s sense of national pride. Fed Chairman Timothy Geithner is in China trying to convince investors that the US Treasuries they purchased are sound.  The US dollar fell yet again yesterday against other major currencies and Barack is off to the Middle East for what we can only assume is another apology tour. Our enemies around the world view us as weak and are more emboldened than ever. Home foreclosures continue at record levels and the government’s massive deficit spending threatens to cripple our economy for decades to come. The future doesn’t look very promising right now does it? Have you ever seen our country in such a sad hopeless position? Actually yes, back in the late1970’s we faced a very similar situation. Our auto industry was in a shambles, our steel industry collapsed, thousands lost their jobs, the dollar fell, and inflation rose. We faced a new enemy, Iran, who held a group of US citizens hostage for 444 days. Our national pride was badly wounded and it looked as if America’s best days were behind her. Well they weren’t then, and they aren’t now; not if we take action to change the direction we’re heading. The citizens of our country were fed up with the lack of real leadership and threw the bums out. They tossed out a pathetic, inept, ineffective, apologetic president and took their country back. An era of massive economic growth and prosperity emerged when new leaders took the helm and returned our government to it founding principles. Americans picked their heads up and got busy rebuilding a shattered nation. Today is not the end of the United States as we know it, not if follow the examples of past. We need real leadership now to get us back in the game and we’re not getting it. We need to toss all these weak, pathetic bozos out of office and start over. Hey folks, this is AMERICA! Pick yourself up, brush yourself off and get to the task at hand.

Today is a very sad day for our Country. 

      Despite my belief that GM should have filed Chapter 11 several months ago, that doesn't mean its court filing today makes me happy and it certainly doesn't make this a good day for America. Chevrolet and the affiliated brands that make up General Motors are American icons. Those of you who know me personally know I'm a hardcore Ford guy, but if you haven't driven a Corvette, Camaro, Firebird or similar GM product powered by a Chevy small block 350, then buddy you haven't lived! I have owned several GM products in the past, always liked the products, and even owned their stock for a time. I spent a great deal of my youth in either dad’s 1976 Chevy Nova, JayLou’s Pontiac Phoenix, or RJ’s mom’s Buick; they never, ever let us down.  

      As part of today’s Chapter 11 filing the Obama Administration, in its infinite wisdom, has taken a taxpayer stake in the company in excess of 60%. So make no mistake on the underlying implication of this issue; Americans didn’t buy enough GM cars, so American taxpayers now have to buy GM. Before I proceed, let me remind you that 8 out of 10 members of Obama’s automotive committee drive foreign made cars.

       Let me ask all of you a question, Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Independent, etc. do you really want to own GM? No matter how big they are, is any company really too big to fail? And if you truly believe GM should be saved, what is in YOUR driveway? If you climb into a Honda, Nissan, or Toyota for your morning commute to work, but support the Obama plan for GM, you need your head examined. If you are a big union supporter, but drive a foreign made car, you are seriously confused. Companies need to succeed or fail without government intervention. The government should not be bailing out ANYONE!

      Have no illusions, GM will never be the company it once was. The Obama administration wants Americans to drive cramped little performance starved, Eco-Friendly, Union built, Socialist mobiles. The government has already dictated emissions and gas mileage standards, what prevents it from dictating what cars are built?  How long will the politically incorrect Escalade, Tahoe, or Corvette survive? How long will GM continue its racing efforts?  Will GM ever again stand on its own free of government control? Sadly, I doubt it ever will.

       Oh just as a little side note, Ford, again the only one NOT to take government bailout money, is increasing their production for the 3^rd quarter. Yes, you heard it here first (well, probably not), Ford is calling back workers! Guess what, they aren’t being called back to build the Obama-crats ‘Eco-Friendly’ little zit cars, they’re being called back to build those evil gas guzzling F-150 pickups! The very idea! Gee, make what Americans really want, forget what the bureaucrats say, and create jobs at the same time?? Say it’s not so?!? Guess what people, that’s the free market in action, stop, watch, and learn.

                Wow, I had a different topic for this morning, but after a stern tongue lashing over a ‘political cartoon’ I posted, let’s step back and look at the facts. This person claimed all our economic problems were the fault of the Bush Administration. This recession was triggered by a melt down in the sub-prime lending market, lending mandated by the Community Reinvestment Act. This act was originally passed in 1977, revised in 1995, and amended in 2005. This act forced banks to grant mortgages to people who otherwise would not qualify for a loan. These loans would then be sold to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, if they refused to make these sub-prime loans, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac would not buy the banks other mortgages. The concept behind this Act was noble, more people owning homes, but the execution of it created a great deal of toxic assets. In 2003 and again in 2005, Bush sounded the alarm over the level of funding in these institutions, but was rebuffed by Congress both times. Face it a President can do very little without the support of Legislators; Congress holds the purse strings. Somehow people seem to conveniently forget the fact that Democrats took control of both houses in 2006! Read that again, Democrats have had control of every nickel spent by the government since 2006. Just a little reminder, the day Obama was sworn in, Wall Street dropped more than on any previous Inauguration day.  

      OK, so you still want to blame it on Bush, fine. Even if that was true, how can you possibly defend the reckless spending of Barack Obama and a democratically controlled Congress? Barack likes to claim that he inherited this deficit, while laying out a budget that runs a deficit larger than all previous presidents combined. This 2009 budget with a $1.8 Trillion deficit is his. This failed $787 Billion Stimulus is his. This economy crushing $3.59 Trillion 2010 budget is his. The stock market is 5000 points lower than it was when Democrats took control of Congress. The bond traders are revolting against this reckless spending. Foreign banks are reluctant to buy our bonds. The US dollar plummeted to historic lows against other currencies just this week. Corporations continue to slash employees as they brace for hyper inflation. Obama, despite campaigning against it, continues to bailout failing companies. If blaming Bush makes you feel better, fine, I’ll agree he made some major mistakes. But who will you blame a year from now? When the price of everything has spiraled out of control, who will you blame? When you can’t afford to heat your home due to cap & trade, who will you blame? When you’re sitting on an endless waiting list to see a doctor thanks to Nationalized Healthcare, who will you blame?

    I know these folks made up their mind long ago; facts obviously have no bearing on their convictions. But guess what, its freaking cartoon! You can dish it out, but you can’t take it? Well, you might want to plant your head a bit deeper in the sand, because as more of his policies take effect, Barack will have no one to blame but himself.
