Just in it for the money, are you kidding me?
I was told recently by a friend, that a person in our local media stated ‘on air’ they didn’t want to associate with “someone just in it for the money,” in an apparent reference to yours truly. I heard this little story second hand so I won’t reveal the persons identity, but needless to say, I was stunned. First of all, I’m puzzled as to how someone I admire came to hold this opinion of me. Anyone who has done this type of work will tell you, you spend far more than you will ever make, assuming you make anything at all. Political ‘Blogging’ is a thankless and often frustrating activity that will attract a great deal of criticism (to put in nicely.) I can honestly say I have never made a nickel doing this, but what if I had? Think about that for a second, when did Capitalism become a bad thing? How odd is it that someone who preaches independence, self reliance, and free markets would oppose someone getting paid for their efforts. If you make or do something that someone else is willing to pay for, isn’t that pure capitalism; isn’t that the basis of the free market system? People, we have some big problems in this country; we can’t afford to waste time attacking each other. If it makes them feel better to dismiss my efforts, fine, have at it. This is not about me; this is about getting people involved in taking back our country. I grew tired of just yelling at my TV, and I’m going to do everything I can to make a difference. Nothing short of jail will deter my efforts, and you can take that to the bank.

Your First Amendment Rights are Under Attack!
August 25th, 2009, outside an overflowing Town Hall meeting with Jim Moran (D-VA,) and Howard Dean, a police officer threatened to arrest a protester because of the content of his sign. Let me say that again, protester threatened with arrest over the content of his sign, is this Cuba? This is outrageous my friends! When an Officer of the State denies citizens the right to protest, we are in real trouble. When an Officer of the State denies a citizen’s right to free speech, we are in real trouble. Officer Wesley Cheeks Jr., of the Fairfax County VA sheriff’s office, blatantly violated a protesters first amendment rights. This man was threatened with jail if he dare raise his sign again. Where is the outcry from the ACLU? Where is the outrage from Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton? Where is your outrage? Think Mr. Obama will get involved in this one? I wouldn’t hold my breath. If this incident is allowed to go unpunished, where will this take us? This sets a dangerous precedent my friends, this must not stand. The actions of this officer disgrace the uniform he wears. This officer is a disgrace to not only his dept., but to the entire profession. ‘Officer’ Wesley Cheeks Jr. must be terminated and prosecuted – no exception. We must make it clear to his Commander and his entire dept. that failure to take action on this is not simply unacceptable, it’s criminal. I have forwarded this information along with the video to every major news outlet I can think of as well as local radio and newspapers. Please step up and send this to all your local media outlets as well as everyone you know. Please call and email this police department and demand action. I for one will not let this go, will you?

Diversity in the Media or media control?
There has been quite a lot of talk recently about bringing back the ‘Fairness Doctrine.’ The Dems in Congress don’t like to refer to it by that name because many of us still remember this restriction of free speech, but they are desperate to gain further control of the media. Mark Lloyd, Chief Diversity Officer for the FCC, claims that current FCC regulations negatively impact the civil rights of minorities. Lloyd claims that republican domination of the FCC has been devastating to minority ownership and ‘diversity’ in the media. First of all, why does the FCC have a ‘Diversity Officer?’ Now, tell me what area of the media isn’t already dominated by the left? Television is dominated by the left; ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, CNN, and MSNBC are all dominated by liberals. Newspapers are predominantly liberal; just one more reason they are failing. The internet is still wide open, but the Administration has requested more control, even to the point of shutting it down in case of ‘national emergency.’ It’s that pesky talk radio my friends; radio is the current target of the left because their attempts to compete in this media have been dismal failures. Remember Air America, the all liberal talk radio heavily funded by liberal special interest groups? Despite all the money, Air America failed miserably; liberals simply don’t seem interested in listening to talk radio. Despite this obvious lack of demand – the left demands equal time. Mr. Lloyd believes that commercial radio stations should have to pay fees, equal to their operating costs, to fund Public Radio and therefore liberal programming. So let’s step back for a second; if liberals aren’t interested in listening to talk radio, then why all the fuss? Simple; control and silence the opposition. This is not about diversity as they claim; this is about silencing the Hannitys and Limbaughs of the world. This is a blatant attack on free speech. Lloyd is a socialist, plain and simple. Lloyd, in his 2006 book “Prologue to a Farce: Communications and Democracy in America,” calls for a ‘confrontational movement’ straight out of Saul Alinski’s Rules for Radicals. This Administration is beyond dangerous; they are attacking our freedoms from every direction. Stand up and be heard – while you still can.

Are they really on our side?
Remember those Black Panthers who were wielding a Billy club at a polling station in Philadelphia? Remember the Black Panthers trying to intimidate white voters on Election Day? Well, apparently Attorney General Eric Holder has decided it’s not worth pursuing. Yup, apparently it’s ok to threaten American voters with violence as long as the perpetrators support your candidate. Well, Eric Holder, best known for snatching Elian Gonzalez from his home in the dead of night, is at it again. Holder has appointed special investigator John Durham to probe CIA interrogators, again. Yes, forget the criminals right here under your nose and instead let’s attack the CIA. Mr. Obama claims that the decision to appoint a special investigator is that of Mr. Holder alone and that he is only interested in looking forward, another Obama lie. Mr. Obama made it clear during the 2008 campaign that his ‘first action’ as president would be to prosecute those responsible for torture. Well, his first action was to seal his school records, so that’s a lie as well. Whew, they sure are adding up aren’t they? Let’s forget the armed thugs roaming the streets terrorizing Americans and instead let’s attack those who work to keep Americans safe; I guess that makes sense if you’re a moron. Mr. Obama is trying to pursue this dark side of his agenda while avoiding any responsibility for it, and providing a nice little distraction at the same time. I can’t help but believe that the liberal loons would rather have thousands of Americans killed in additional terrorist attacks than rough up a few terrorists. They are more concerned with the ‘dignity’ of these barbarians than they are about the security of our citizens. The actions of this Administration are not only dangerous, but clearly anti-American. I strongly believe these tactics will backfire and this corrupt, divisive Administration will continue to unravel.

Ted Kennedy Dead at 77
The news will be filled with politicians singing the praises of their fallen comrade, but do you feel the same? Democrats and Republicans alike will go on record as having a ‘great admiration’ for Kennedy and repeatedly tell us what a ‘great American’ he was, but do you feel the same? Jimmy Carter has already stated that “no one would be missed more by the American people than Ted Kennedy.” Kennedy has been battling brain cancer for over a year, appearing in the Senate only on rare occasion; shouldn’t he have given up his seat long before now? With all the coming declarations of his greatness, do you think the Massachusetts Senate will give in to Kennedy’s request to change the law and appoint a Democrat to his seat? Not to speak ill of the dead, but someone has to bring a little reality to situation. Kennedy never had a chance at the presidency due to the Chappaquiddick scandal, where a pregnant young lady drowned when Kennedy crashed his car into the water. Kennedy, always a ‘champion of the environment’ was a big supporter of Cap & Trade, but when electricity producing wind turbines were to be installed offshore near his favorite sailing spot, he used his political influence to stop it. I’m sorry, but to me, that is the very definition of hypocrisy. Ted Kennedy should be the poster child for term limits. Kennedy has been taking up space in the Senate since 1963, a shining example of why Washington is so out of touch and why we need term limits. As you watch all the politicians, friend and foe alike, spewing out praise about his service to America, try to keep some perspective. If Kennedy was really such a great champion of the little people, wouldn’t he want the voters (the little people) to decide his replacement? If Kennedy really loved his country so much, wouldn’t he have stepped aside long ago? My sincere condolences to his family, but I for one will not miss Senator Kennedy. When you hear these folks singing his praises over the next several days, remember most are doing it for political reasons. You can bet the last dollar of your unemployment check that Mr. Obama will exploit this for all it’s worth.

Another Town Hall Success
Town hall meetings were being held across the country again yesterday and citizens showed up in large numbers demanding to be heard; I was one of them. My local Representative Congressman Lincoln Davis, a ‘Blue Dog Democrat,’ held his 6th and final town hall meeting with a group of about 350 people. Like other events I’ve attended recently, upon arrival I was immediately greeted by lefties carrying ‘Healthcare NOW’ signs, also like the previous events – they were the minority. The event was being broadcast live on a small local station, which I’ve never heard of, which proved to be an annoying distraction. The announcer kept interrupting the speakers as well as calling for station breaks and really trying to control the tempo of the meeting – like I said, annoying. The format was different this time, instead of the standard question and answer, people made statements and asked questions for 90 min. then the Congressman addressed those issues for 20 min. This allowed the Congressman to address the questions in bulk with little or no confrontation. The real downside to this format is sitting through the endless whining and drawn out stories of people who never actually make a point or ask a question. The bottom line here is that the Congressman clearly stated his opposition to this bill. Mission accomplished, sort of.
Two other Blue Dog Democrats were holding town halls in the area yesterday, although one was a ‘Radio Town Hall’ – chicken. Despite their ducks, dodges, and excuses – both now say they are opposed to HR 3200, two more wins for the good guys. We have taken a major step in the right direction – we have confronted Congress head on and voiced our displeasure with their actions. The defeat of this bill, and all others like it, has to be our primary goal right now. Just because we are seeing infighting among the Democrats on this doesn’t mean the fight is over. Keep the heat on; keep their offices flooded with letters, faxes, emails and phone calls. The Pelosi Militia will not go down without a fight; the slander and propaganda machine has just getting started. We have Cap & Trade heading to the Senate with Immigration and Social Security ‘Reform’ waiting in the wings.
Take each of these small victories as encouragement to ramp up the fight and awaken the Silent Majority. The stakes have never been higher; we simply can’t afford to lose.

Are they lying or just that stupid?
When it comes to the Obamacare debate – we’ve heard it all and some of us have been called it all. Many left-wingers at Town Halls apparently have brushed up on their playground insults, resorting to personal attacks on people they’ve never met before. Remember folks, these are the ‘progressive intellectuals!’ Jeanane Garofalo, failed comedian and Air America Host, recently said we are “Racists or functionally retarded,” if you’ve ever seen her act you may wonder if she might be functionally retarded. Mr. Obama has been vigorously defending his plan stating that ‘if you like your health care, you can keep it.” Well, Mr. Obama is either lying, or like so many other politicians, hasn’t bothered to even read the bill. I have read the bill and there are clearly stated exceptions to that statement that would eventually affect everyone. The White House emphatically rejected the notion that this bill created ‘death panels’ for seniors claiming Republican operatives were just trying to scare seniors. After relentless challenges to this part of the bill, some congressional leaders stated that they have removed the death panels from the bill. Wait, how can you remove something that wasn’t there? Something sounds as little ‘fishy’ here. Mr. Obama claims this bill will cover more people, with better coverage, no rationing, and is deficit neutral; that’s some interesting economics! More people will get a piece of the pie, a higher quality pie, and the pieces will not get smaller – all without buying more pie? Wow, no wonder he had his school records sealed! People, please get a clue.
This whole bill, HR 3200, was originally being sold as the solution to the so-called 45 million uninsured when in fact it will not cover all of the uninsured. The focus of the propaganda then changed to that of controlling costs, but that didn’t seem to really spark much interest from the left. The next lie, spread widely by Nancy Pelosi, was that the Insurance Companies were evil and must be forced into submission by our merciful government. Now the new message is, well, I’m not really sure. Folks, trusting Obama with your healthcare is like trusting Rosie O’Donnell to watch your sandwich; it’s your choice, but I wouldn’t recommend it!

Gov. Paterson says media is racist - is he nuts?
New York Governor David Paterson (D) came out yesterday ranting loudly that his problems, and those of Mr. Obama, are all due to racists in the media – is he delusional? Paterson is a joke who should have never been appointed in the first place, but to claim that Obama’s problems are due to a racist media is clearly disingenuous.
Let’s take a look at the facts.
Obama claimed the American people needed a Stimulus Package so desperately that there wasn’t even time to read it much less debate it. When the bill did pass, Obama spent 4 days in Hawaii before signing it – media gave him a pass.
Obama promised the effects of the Stimulus would be felt almost immediately and would ‘jolt the economy’ back into shape. When the economy continued to spiral downward Barack said the Stimulus was never meant to work that quickly – media gave him a pass.
Obama promised the Stimulus would ‘save or create’ 3 – 4 million jobs and prevent unemployment from exceeding 8%. The Administration says it’s now created 150,000 jobs when in reality the economy has lost 2.5 million jobs and employment sits at 9.4% - the media gives him a pass.
Obama promised to ‘reset’ the US position in the world. Barack traveled across Europe and the Middle East apologizing to the world for the actions of the United States. He called the US a Muslim nation, he bowed to a Saudi King, and proclaimed that it was his duty to defend Islam – the media gave him a pass.
Obama poured billions of dollars into Chrysler and GM in what he claimed was an effort to prevent them filing bankruptcy. When the automakers did fail and were forced to file bankruptcy, Obama claimed it was part of his plan all along – the media gave him a pass.
Obama boldly claimed he would have the most ‘transparent’ Administration is history. Barack’s his first act as President was to issue an Executive order sealing his school records, college transcripts and Harvard writings - media gave him a pass.
Obama holds campaign rallies, poorly disguised as ‘Town Hall Meetings,’ to dispel so called misinformation about his healthcare plan. The Administration required questions to be submitted in advance, audience members were prescreened, and union supporters were bussed in for the cameras – the media gave him a pass.
Obama unveiled his 2010 budget plan and proudly called it a ‘New Era of Responsibility.’ Obama just announced that the revised deficit estimates for his budget are now $9 Trillion and then slips out for yet another vacation – the media gives him a pass.
Need I go on? The claim that the media is racist is completely ridiculous; the media may soon be the only ones still supporting this guy. However, you can expect the race card will be played early and often as this catastrophe of an Administration unravels. Those protesting against the policies of this Administration have already been called ‘ignorant gun toting racists.’ This lowbrow deceptive tactic is often used by ACORN and LaRaza to discredit their opponents; you can expect to see it a great deal more in the near future.
Today, in every Congressional district in the country, citizens will be holding anti-Obamacare Rallies to show their displeasure with Mr. Obama’s attempt to take over the health care system. Although labeled ‘Astroturf’ by such mental giants as Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, these protests are being organized and attended by average folks like you and me. If you really think these protests are funded by Insurance companies or other such media drivel, I invite you to attend one for yourself. I challenge you to meet these people, talk to them, get the facts – your eyes just might be opened.

Kennedy wants rules changed to protect Democrats again!
The ancient and ailing Ted Kennedy wants to change the rules to fit his personal agenda. Ted Kennedy, who has spent most of his adult life taking up space in the Senate like so much rotting wood, sent a letter to Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and members of the Massachusetts House and Senate requesting they change the state succession rule. Teddy ‘Chappaquiddick’ Kennedy wants to ensure that a Democrat is in place to vote for Obamacare in case he is unable to do so himself. Let’s take a step back for a moment and look at the rule Old Tipsy Teddy wants changed. The current succession law requires a special election to be held 5 months after a Senator dies or resigns, Kennedy wants the law changed to allow the Governor to appoint a replacement. The current law was put in place by Democrats to prevent then Governor Mitt Romney from appointing a Republican in the event that John Kerry won his 2004 run for President. Now that Mass. has a Democrat as governor, Kennedy wants to change the rules again to make sure a Republican can’t be elected to that seat. Does anyone really think this is the kind of partisan political maneuvering the founding fathers envisioned when they created our great republic? The Constitution was crafted with a system of checks and balances designed to prevent such partisan manipulation of the law, but you can bet the liberals in Massachusetts will quickly change the law to fit their left-wing agenda. This whole episode is just another prime example of why we need term limits. Old Crusty Teddy should have been out on his butt long ago (and probably in prison), but current law allows too many of these bozos to become permanent fixtures in government. How many times have you seen old Teddy sleeping in his Senate seat, and we wonder why Washington is so out of touch? Throw them all out and start over!

White House can’t get its story straight.
Mr. Obama and some members of Congress are now signaling that they may be willing to ‘go it alone’ on healthcare. Why would they do this – duh, they have no choice. Recent talk of using the ‘reconciliation’ tactic indicates they can’t even count on the support of Democrats in Congress, much less that of any Republicans. First Mr. Obama told us he was going to reform the health care system to take care of the purported 45 million uninsured (a highly debatable number.) This tactic failed so the Administration is now attacking the insurance companies – trying to turn them into some great enemy of the people that he can save us from. Kathleen ‘the infant slayer’ Sebelius told the press on Sunday that the ‘public option wasn’t essential,’ a statement that angered the socialist wing of the party and sent the White House scrambling again. Now Mr. Obama has scheduled meetings with ‘faith based groups’ to try to sell his totalitarian takeover of healthcare as a ‘moral obligation.’ The more they wander, the more they misrepresent the bill, the more they change their story - the less support there is for this trash. The polls clearly show that the American people are opposed to this bill, so why do they keep pushing this? Simple, they are convinced that they know best and we are just ignorant peasants subject to their merciful rule. Mr. Obama will use everything at his disposal to force this legislation through. Oh, and don’t forget that the Cap & Trade bill, Obama’s attempt to seize control of the nations energy supply, will soon head to the Senate for a vote. Also, don’t forget that Marx – I mean Obama – has promised sweeping immigration ‘reform’ (read amnesty) by years end. Many members of Congress, faced with protests, recess rallies, and rowdy town hall meetings are beginning to get the picture – vote against this or find a new job. On the flip side - this corrupt, arrogant Administration doesn’t care what you think and is working relentlessly to discredit your opinion. Silencing your voice, silencing any and all opposition, is a key element to obtaining their objectives. If you study Mr. Obama’s available writings, the few that haven’t been sealed by executive order, his desires are clearly evident – socialism in America. He will hide behind deceptive speeches, staged town hall meetings, and an over heated teleprompter; but he can’t hide from his own true self. Karl, I mean Barack, is a hard left socialist bent on destroying the freedoms that make our country great - just say NO! Say no to this America hating radical. Say no to reelecting anyone who supports this tyrannical regime. Say no to sitting quietly on the sidelines. The time is now, the situation is critical; our nation is under attack from within. I appeal to you to stand up and get involved today. I appeal to you, as one American to another, to fight for the freedoms we so often take for granted. Please don’t sit idly by while they destroy the greatest nation ever to grace the face of the earth.

My Town Hall Experience
I arrived nearly 2 hours before the scheduled start of the town hall only to find I wasn’t the only one with the same idea. The site of the meeting, a small room in a former High School, was filling quickly and already standing room only. The topic of Universal Healthcare was obviously a very contentious issue here and the people in this remote rural community were desperate to be heard. The wall of the room was lined with signs, some homemade some not, reflecting the views of supporters from both sides of the issue. I have to admit, after surveying the crowd, I felt my group might be way outnumbered – I was wrong. By the time the meeting started the room was way over capacity, with about 50 people in the hallway unable to get in. The Congressman employed a slightly different format, taking 4-5 questions at a time, and then responding to each of them one at a time. The temperature rose quickly in the room, as did a few tempers, with some people shouting out of turn. The meeting, which ran about an hour, was pretty well dominated by conservatives and the Congressman gave us quite a bit to be happy about. The Congressman promised to vote against forcing employers to provide healthcare, against any coverage for illegal aliens, and against public funding for abortion. Congressman Lincoln Davis is one of the ‘Blue Dog Democrats’ and claims to be a centrist – his voting record does support that claim. Although I don’t agree with everything the Congressman said I do believe he will prove to be an NO vote on this so called ‘Healthcare Reform.’ The Congressman, although a supporter of the stimulus package, made the right decision by voting against Cap & Trade and I do believe will make the right decision on Obamacare. Make no mistake, if he goes back to Washington and makes the wrong call, I’ll be back to hold his feet to the fire.

Liberals in Denial
Funny thing this fragmented group called ‘progressives.’ These people have convinced themselves that they are ‘open-minded,’ caring and of course intellectually superior to all others, similar to the way a teenager is sure they know everything. They proudly champion their right to free speech, but hire thugs to intimidate those who disagree with them. The left flooded the streets to protest the war while Bush was president, but have been unwilling to protest the war with Obama as president. They called protesting Bush patriotic, but protesting the policies of Obama is un-American and even racist. Left-wing advocacy groups are spending millions on advertising and hiring protesters through Craig’s List, yet they call us a ‘manufactured opposition.’ A recent Gallup poll shows conservatives are a majority in all 50 states, yet the left calls us ‘fringe groups.’ The most recent polls show 54% of Americans are opposed to government run healthcare, yet the left claims 83% of Americans really want it. The White House claims they did not send out millions of spam emails, but the emails were from David Axelrod with a return address of Whitehouse.gov. The left is claiming the economy is recovering thanks to that bloated pork filled stimulus, yet home foreclosures rose in July, retail sales were down, and unemployment continues to rise. Well my friends – the left won’t allow such pesky facts to get in the way of their agenda. They, the self proclaimed intellectuals, have convinced themselves that they know what’s best for all of us. So, what do you think, have you heard enough yet? Are you outraged yet? Well you should be, and you need to make your government aware of your complete disapproval and utter disgust with their actions. Members of Congress received their marching orders from Pelosi to go out and sell Obamacare, we need to give them new marching orders; follow the will of the people or look for a new job. I am heading to a town hall with my Congressman today; I will be early and I will be right down front - be assured he will hear from me!

Obama trades Public Option for Co-ops?
Yesterday reports began surfacing that suggested the White House may abandon their push for a public heath care plan to compete with (run out of business) private insurance companies. A small victory for sure, but the fight is not over – not by a long shot. The Healthcare cooperatives, being suggested by those on both sides of the isle, are eerily similar to the exchanges in the original bill. These co-ops as they are being called would be formed with funds provided by; you guessed it, the taxpayers. Anyone who has ever done business with the government though a Grant or Small Business loan will tell you that government funding equals government meddling. This entire Bill needs to be trashed; feed those 1100 hundred pages of socialist drivel right through the shredder. Warning - if we spend too much time celebrating the death of the ‘public option’ and allow them to rush this co-op plan through – we lose. This Bill, even without the public option, allows the ‘camel’s nose under the tent.’ If you give the government a little bit of control, they will over time take more and more. If you are under the impression that co-ops lead to lower costs, you might be surprised to find the opposite is often true. The telephone co-op I have here offers less service at much higher prices than the service I received from the big evil AT&T in Chicago. So what’s the real answer, simple, keep the government out of it! If the government really wants to ‘fix’ the healthcare ‘crisis’ I would suggest they work on the program they already control – Medicare. We are constantly told about people having to choose between buying food and buying their medications – many of these people are already on a broke government healthcare plan – it’s called Medicare! I’ve heard some other great suggestions lately that the government seems to have either missed or simply chosen to ignore because they require less government control. Here’s one – allow Insurance companies to compete across state lines. Oh and how about removing State Mandates on what policies must cover so the Insurance Companies can offer some less expensive policies. Let the consumer decide what policy, if any, is best for them. Did you know that in Connecticut, because of a State Mandate, you can not purchase a policy that doesn’t cover hair transplants? The problem isn’t that the government hasn’t done enough; the problem is they’ve done too much! Let’s not get complacent now just because we’ve won a battle, there are many more battles to come - the war has yet to be won.

Obama underestimated you.
The Obama Administration’s rush to Socialized medicine may be on the ropes. This week, due in part to town halls packed with angry constituents, many in Congress have backed away from their support of this bill. The Senate has now removed the controversial ‘end of life’ portion of the bill and even hardcore lefty John Murtha has expressed doubt in its passing. The voters are rebelling against not only this healthcare bill, but against the bully tactics of this Administration. Mr. Obama’s ‘transparent Administration’ has set up a snitch line, attacked their political opponents, attacked protestors, attacked insurance companies, attacked the media, used tracking software to capture email addresses, and attempted to rush legislation to a vote before the American people learn what’s in it. Despite the millions of dollars spent by special interest groups to support this insanity, poll after poll shows Americans are clearly opposed to a government take over of our healthcare system. The American people’s support of Mr. Obama and Congress is falling quickly, the more the voters see - the less they approve. Mr. Obama has been staging “Town Hall Style’ meetings packed with the kool-aide drinking left in a desperate attempt sell his propaganda, yet support for his agenda continues to dwindle. Mr. Obama and his Socialist cronies underestimated the American people, they underestimated you. This Administration’s blatant attack on the Constitution and the American way of life has awakened the sleeping giant; they have awakened the silent majority. Now is not the time to let up, we have accomplished much in a very short period of time, but a great deal of work remains to be done. It’s 1st down and 10 on the opponents’ 40 yard line – time for a big push. Do not get soft, do not let your guard down, and do not be intimidated. Stand tall and push these clowns back, and keep pushing them back till we push them off the field completely. I’ll be attending town hall meetings almost everyday next week; I sincerely hope you’ll join me.

Here come the Obamabots!
The Unions have their marching orders, bully protestors out of the way. Those who have called us “Astroturf” or “paid protesters” are now pouring money into counter protests. The AFL-CIO has committed $15 million for “mobilization and communication.” The SEIU, now best known for beating a black conservative protestor, is sending it’s enforcers to over 400 events this month. Ask yourself, why are Unions so involved in this debate? In case you didn’t know, Unions have been exempted from the provisions of this bill in exchange for their support. But hold on a minute, if you are able to keep your current coverage as the Dems are claiming, why would the Unions need an exemption? Hello! The facts are clear; this bill is crafted to eventually force EVERYONE onto the ‘Public Plan.’ Mr. Obama, despite his repeated public denials, is on record as a supporter of a single payer system (see my Video Page for proof.) The involvement of the Unions in this debate is reason for genuine concern, their reputation of violence and intimidation is legendary and well deserved. Their mission is to scare you away from the Town Halls and silence your voice; they want to deny you the right to speak. I had the misfortune of observing their tactics during a trucking strike in 1997, the union enforcers intimated employees, vandalized cars, and threatened management. Do not allow these thugs to take away your 1st amendment rights. When you go to these Town Hall meetings be prepared to document everything that happens – take your digital or video camera and have 911 on speed dial. Obama talked during the campaign about a civilian militia “just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded” as the military (posted on my Video Page,) could this use of union thugs by the White House be just a hint of things to come?

Will you make yourself heard?
You’ve been reading the Bills, you’ve been signing petitions, you’ve been watching the issues closely; but will you get out there and be heard? I know far too many people who oppose what Congress and the Administration are attempting to force on us, but are still sitting quietly on the sidelines. Allow me to ask this question, how many of these same people sat at home on Election Day? We are at a critical time in our nation’s history; we can not afford to sit on our hands while others pretend to speak for us. I will admit that protesting is a new game for me. If you told me a year ago that I would be out carrying signs, attending Tea Parties, and protesting Congressmen – I would had thought you were nuts. I’ll admit, when I confronted my Congressman, I had a huge knot in my stomach; but someone has to do it! If we have any chance of stopping this march to Socialism, we all must step out of our comfort zone and get involved. How many Americans have fought and died to protect our freedom of speech? Are they listening yet?
Everywhere you look, except for Barack’s carefully screened audience, people are speaking out LOUDLY against members of Congress who are supporting Mr. Obama’s ‘Healthcare Reform.’ People are upset, and rightly so, because they feel those elected to represent them are not listening to their concerns. It is the normal practice, unfortunately, for our elected officials to talk at us instead of with us. They tend to talk down to us, the ignorant populous, as though we are children and they are the parent. These town hall meetings are upsetting the status quo and forcing many of them to rethink their tactics. How many times have you now witnessed the audience members knowing far more about the bill than the official trying to sell it to them? Keep the heat on them; it is having an effect my friends. Allow me to add a word of advice, if the official is allowing you to speak, be courteous and stick to the issues. I recently told my Congressman that the courage he displayed in talking directly with protestors should serve as an example to his colleagues in Washington; if you treat us with respect, we will treat you with respect. We are conservatives; don’t allow them to label us as extremists and use our actions against us. If we have the opportunity to be heard, seize the opportunity; if they don’t listen – then they deserve what they get.

Cash for Clunkers Results
Results are in from the ‘Cash for Clunkers’ program, and from my perspective, it isn’t good. Six of the top ten vehicles sold under this program are NOT from the Big Three automakers; the top 10 trade-ins were all from the American nameplates. The top selling vehicle is currently the Toyota Corolla with the Ford Focus coming in at number 2 and the Honda Civic following in spot number 3. So, we’re spending taxpayer money to subsidize the Asian automakers? Congress, in its infinite wisdom, has now added another $2 Billion to the original $1 Billion budgeted for the program, effectively tripling this moronic program. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t we just spend billions of taxpayer dollars to bailout Chrysler and GM? Isn’t over 60% of GM now owned by the American taxpayer? Now we’re spending billions to take American cars off the road and replace them with Asian built vehicles? Call me silly, but does this make sense to you? Oh, and I thought these were supposed to be ‘Clunkers?’ I took a few pictures yesterday of some so called ‘Clunkers’ that had been traded in at a Nissan dealer, trust me when I say I’ve driven worse (see pictures on the Home Page.) When you step back and look at the recent actions of this Administration and Congress, is there any wonder the country is in its current condition? Can you name a single success from these Bozos? Do you really want to trust your healthcare to these people? Enough is enough folks; it really is time for Change!

Grassroots vs. Astroturf?
The power brokers on the left are claiming that opponents of Obama’s healthcare bill are paid protestors – you’ve heard it before – and the counter protestors are just average Americans who want healthcare reform. Really, let’s take a look at those counter protestors and who is funding their efforts. “Healthcare for America Now,” according to their own website, claims to be a “national grassroots campaign of over 1000 organizations in 46 states.” You may wonder who are these ‘organizations,’ are they churches, seniors groups, vets, doctors? Again, from their own website:

Surprise, now I guess we know why these counter protestors have professionally printed signs and lots of cash to blow on media ads. If ACORN is involved, you can bet they’re using our own taxpayer money against us again. Just for the record, ACORN, Mr. Obama’s previous employer, is again under investigation by Congress for using taxpayer money for political activities (see article on the Home Page.) If the Unions are involved, you can bet there will be intimidation and threats of violence. Look at that list again – it’s a virtual who’s who of those who oppose our founding principles of self reliance, personal responsibility, and a free market system. These well funded enemies of America are the real Astroturf and Barack, Nancy and Harry know it. Remember this, every time they repeat this ‘Astroturf’ claim, they are blatantly lying to the American people – and they know it. These people are supposed to work for us – they have failed us - let them know their pink slips are coming.

Can you feel the tide turning?
The newspapers, television, radio and internet sites are jammed with reports of citizens standing up to be heard at Rallies and Town Halls across the country. Warning: the mainstream media will try to portray us as radicals – our knowledge of the facts and a deep understanding of the issues is the key to proving them wrong. More and more people are waking up everyday to the reality that our government is overstepping its bounds. More and more people are asking ‘what can I do to help stop this?’
I want you to get up right now and go to the window, open it, and stick your head out, and yell, "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!"
If you haven’t already, join up with one of the many groups fighting for our freedoms, I have links to many of them on the home page. Start digging into the issues – get the facts – they are readily available on a variety news and commentary sites. Warning – the more you learn, the scarier it gets. Now that you know the facts and understand the issues you need to know where your elected official stands. Make contact – write, call, email, and fax them to death; let there be no question where you stand on the issues. Our elected officials know they are tip toeing through a mine field right now – don’t let them off easy. This August recess is a golden opportunity to make an impact on them and send them back in September worrying about keeping their jobs. If a mere 9 people were able to get the attention of a Member of the House, what do you think 9,000 could do? How about 900,000 or even 9 million? I look forward to hearing from you today!

Dems get their marching orders.
An odd thing just happened – I just saw Barack Obama on TV! Gee, how unusual. Has this guy ever heard of over exposure?
Anyway, the White House has given Congressional Dems their recess deployment orders complete with talking points; go out there and sell Obamacare. Mr. Obama has told his disciples to ‘hit back twice as hard’ against opponents of his plan to take over healthcare. Will they follow their messiah? Despite being told to get out there and sell the plan, many Democrats are justifiably reluctant to face their constituents back home. Assuming they have seen the videos of some legislators getting torched at these Town Hall meetings, can you really blame them? They are stunned; they have never seen conservatives protest! They are used to seeing the ACORN and Code Pink sheep out there making their case for them, they have never met the Silent Majority before. Well they better get used to it; they are just witnessing the beginning of a huge conservative push back. I have to admit I actually feel bad for some of the ‘Blue Dog Dems’ who are caught between Obama, Pelosi, and Reid - and their voters at home. To try to minimize the effect of the protests the White House, Pelosi, Reid, the DNC (Democratic National Committee) and the left wing media are claiming that the protestors are really employees of Insurance companies or paid GOP activists. Typical left wing propaganda, get used to it. The truth is Organizing for America, a group that had been canvassing neighborhoods across the country to drive support for Obamacare, is ‘a project of the DNC’. Go ahead – Google it for yourself. Open your eyes and look around people – the White House is dictating the talking points for Congressman, using subversive anti-American groups such as Organizing for America, ACORN and Moveon.org to disseminate propaganda, and asking citizens to report on other citizens that oppose them. Does this sound like America? Does this sound like the most ethical and transparent administration ever? This is what happens when you elect a Community Organizer thug from Chicago.

Meeting with my Congressman
I and eight other patriots threw an "Instant TEA Party” for our Congressman last night in Manchester, TN. My Representative in the House, Congressman Lincoln Davis, had not scheduled any Town Hall meetings so we showed up outside a private dinner he was hosting. When our small group first gathered in the parking lot we noticed we were quickly gathering some interest from those inside. We soon noticed that three members of our local police force had come out on the steps of the Convention Center to observe us. Before we had even finished creating our signs, (this was a very last minute event) an aide to the Congressman along with several police officers came out to speak to us. Beecher Frasier III, the Congressman’s Chief of staff, spoke with us for several moments and I must credit him for being extremely gracious. Beecher assured us that we were welcome to be there and he supported our right to express our views, although I’m sure he disagreed with our message. The County Mayor and the Chief of Police later came out to speak with us and were friendly and receptive as well. The Congressman’s aides, in what we felt may have been an attempt at appeasement, sent food and beverages out to our small group and later informed us that Mr. Davis would speak with us briefly after the dinner.
After the dinner, as promised, we were able to meet with Congressman Davis for approx 30 min. First of all, I give the Congressman a lot of credit for taking the time to speak with us, as he could have easily avoided us completely. We asked the Congressman if he was planning any Town Hall meetings, but he successfully dodged this question. When it came my turn to ask a question, to the displeasure of some, I opened by thanking Congressman Davis for voting against Cap & Trade. I’m always encouraging you to call your representatives to express your opinion, so I think we also need to thank them when appropriate. I expressed my belief that the Congressman had voted in the best interest of the country in opposing Cap & Trade and asked for the same commitment on Healthcare; I didn’t get it. The Congressman then went on to talk extensively about his views on energy policy and domestic production. In response to a members question about the Constitutionality of Government Healthcare and Cap & Trade, the Congressman responded, “You’re one of those!” This statement was pretty offense to us, but it pretty much ended there. The Congressman did ask the DNC party line of “Where were you people before” referring to the $700 Billion bank bailout, to which I informed him that we were opposed to that program and the over spending by both parties.
Although I know we may never change his mind on certain issues, I do believe he now has a better understanding of the TEA Party Movement, who we are, and what we're about. I believe our civil discussion of the issues discounts the claims by many on the left that we are fanatics and crazies. I would encourage all of you to similarly engage your elected representatives.

Silencing dissent is just another step towards tyranny.
Hopefully many of you received the alert I sent out last night – if this issue doesn’t worry you; I’m worried about you. The White House, in an amazingly transparent attempt to crush dissent, has issued a request for citizens to report other citizens. What does the White House want to know about; terrorists, militias, counterfeiting, corruption?

Nope, they want to know about those who are speaking out against Mr. Obama’s proposed National Healthcare System. They want to know who has been speaking out against them. We have recently witnessed them labeling anyone who opposes them as fanatics, crazies, and radicals. The White House has even come out against the Drudge Report! This tactic of targeting and ridiculing the opposition is right out of Saul Alinski’s Rules for Radicals. They want to silence you; they want you to sit quietly on the sidelines as they push us into socialism. We’ve seen dictators silence dissent before and the results are never good. Please, don’t go down without a fight. To do my duty as a citizen I reported Congress for spreading ‘fishy’ disinformation on Healthcare. What will you do?

One Final Thought on Cash For Clunkers
I would like to look at one more problem with this poorly executed and poorly thought out government program; it’s effect on the used car market. Maybe you know maybe you don’t, but the cars traded in through this program do not go to the used car market as others do, these must be crushed. Many of these so called Clunkers are just that, junkers destined for the scrap yard, but many of these vehicles still have a lot of life left in them. Taking these cars completely off the market hurts those who are seeking cheap reliable transportation. The struggling single mom who can’t afford to shell out the money for a new car but needs a beater to get back and forth to work now has fewer vehicles to choose from. The other issue at play here is supply and demand; the fewer used vehicles there are to choose from the higher their prices. Guess what, now our single mom might not be able to afford even a used car. What was your first car? I personally drove beaters for years as I worked my way up the food chain and didn’t purchase my first NEW car until much later in life. The politicians who passed this bill are so completely out of touch with the average American that they fail to understand the real effect of their actions. The ‘good deeds’ of these ‘progressive’ politicians are punishing the middle and lower classes just to win favor with the left leaning greenies. Open your eyes people – time for them to go!

$4500 for your personal information?
It’s Monday morning, back to work for many of us, and back to the reality many try to ignore over the weekend. In case you missed it during this period, the Cash for Clunkers program has a twist to it that many are unaware of. If you haven’t seen the Glenn Beck report on this, go to the Home Page and watch the video. Cars.gov, the government’s website for the program and the one car dealers must use to apply for your “Cash” has a rather troubling ‘terms of usage’ agreement. If you’re like me you never read these disclaimers, and I’m pretty sure that’s what the government was counting on, but you better read this one. This website states that by agreeing to their terms of service, your computer including all your files and personal information contained there, become property of the US government (see the Video.) So let me get this straight, if you want to get that $4500 rebate from the government, you must allow them access to all your personal information? Is this a trade you are willing to make? Are you willing to trade your privacy for a government handout? It’s been said many times by many people but deserves repeating, the government that can give you everything you want has the power to take everything you have. The dark underbelly of this Administration is beginning to show itself, be afraid my friends, be very afraid. Please watch the video and then pass it to everyone you know.

Cash for clunkers – another example of government incompetence.
Our wise elected officials have once again demonstrated their inability to manage anything! This program, driven by the green leaning left, offered rebates of up to $4500 to people who traded in ‘gas guzzlers’ for more fuel efficient cars. The Hope and Change Administration claimed this program was designed to stimulate the auto industry; if that was true why would they wait till 2 of them went bankrupt before introducing it? Oh wait, if they did that they might not own GM, sorry I forgot. This program was another unnecessary give-away of taxpayer money to fund the green agenda. Oh, and did I mention that the $1 Billion budgeted for the program ran out in a few days instead of a few months? Those in Congress estimated the program would be funded through the end of October, instead it ran out of cash before the end of the week; still trust their budget estimates? Considering the fine job they did with this fairly simple program, do you really want to trust them with something as complex as healthcare? No? How about the Economy, Cap & Trade, Iran, North Korea, or Afghanistan? These bozos aren’t competent enough to make change at McDonalds much less manage the world’s largest economy (no offense to McDonalds.) Call me crazy (probably not the first time,) but I foresee a large increase in unemployment among liberal public officials in 2010. Obama was right; we do need to vote for change, 458 days from now we need to vote for a BIG CHANGE!
