Is this the start of a War in the East? A friend (and reader) asked me this question yesterday; I personally don’t believe it is. It’s true that North Korea is intentionally provoking the US. It is true, according to sources, that the US has deployed additional Naval Forces to the area. Have you noticed that many of our longtime enemies have been making a great deal of noise over the past few months? The Russians threatened to deploy missiles aimed at Poland. The Russians also threatened to base bombers in Cuba. China has harassed US Navy ships near their coast line. Iran calls for the destruction of Israel, refuses to discuss its nuclear program, and continues to test medium range missiles. Now North Korea has tested a new Nuke, several medium range missiles, and a long range missile capable of reaching the US. North Korea has threatened to attack South Korean and US forces if there is action against them of any kind. What is going on here? Simple, they’re testing us. Much like the old Soviet regime tested JFK, our enemies smell weakness and they are testing us. JFK was seen as young and inexperienced in foreign affairs, so they tried to push his buttons; JFK pushed back. Obama is seen as young and inexperienced in foreign affairs, so they are pushing his buttons; Barack is no JFK. Barack is relying on the Missile Defense System to protect us from North Korea; oddly enough this is a program he has promised to cut. Stupid is as stupid does. We need strong leadership right now and we’re not getting it from either party. The time is now to take a stand people; time to let your will be known. Throw these bums out before they get us all killed.

Happy Friday! Even though many of us have to work tomorrow, there’s still something special about Friday. Yes, the economy is still tanking, our government is still out of control, and North Korea is still threatening war. Guess what, it will still be the same tomorrow. With the news basically all bad lately, it’s easy to forget how truly fortunate we are. We still live in the Greatest Country in the World. We take for granted freedoms that millions can only dream of. I would like to suggest that you take some time today to pause and reflect on what’s truly important to you. Take some time this weekend for your family and friends. Set aside some of your chores for awhile and call up someone you haven’t spoken with in far too long. We too often get so wrapped up in our problems that we forget all the good things in our lives.
Maybe it’s those couple of gray hairs that are creeping in, but I often ask myself where the years have gone. This Sunday is my 24th wedding anniversary and we’re going to party like its 1985! We may add a coat hanger and tinfoil to the TV for old time sake. Regardless of your age or current status in life, be warned, the years will fly by. If you spend too much time focused on the day to day grind you may one day realize you missed all the fun. So lighten up and have some fun this weekend, that’s an order!

Today is one of those days, with all the ‘good news’ in the world today, what topic earns the most attention? Which of these do you think has the greatest potential to sink us? Which article really ticks me off today? Why am I yelling at the computer? Let’s proceed shall we.
The treasury has auctioned off over $100 Billion in Bonds this week alone. That much new US debt hitting the market forces interest rates up and stocks down. The Fed’s purchase of Bonds directly from the Treasury (basically a BIG IOU) has China concerned about purchasing future US Debt and they aren’t shy about saying it. Many well known economists are predicting a deepening recession as a result of this skyrocketing debt. Some market analysts are even making predictions of hyper inflation.
Obama, while campaigning in Nevada for Harry Reid, bragged about the results of the Stimulus Package. Obama boasted that the Stimulus, in its first 100 days, has ‘saved or created’ over 150,000 jobs. The fact is, the economy has lost 1.3 million jobs since the Stimulus was enacted in February. Obama also promised further spending increases for renewable energy after observing the Solar Fields at Nellis Air Force base. Barry bragged, and correctly so, that this solar addition would save the Army $1 million a year. However, this field covers 140 acres and cost the taxpayers $100 million to build. Please tell me how solar projects of this type are a practical replacement for fossil fuels? Do you happen to have an extra 140 acres in your neighborhood for solar panels? Oh and in case you missed it, it will take 100 years for this thing to pay for itself (not including interest).
N Korea has stated that it would no longer abide by the 1953 Armistice that ended the Korean Conflict, basically a thinly veiled threat of war. N Korea continues to defy the world with continued missile tests. The Communist nation stated that attempting to block or search N Korean ships would result in a military strike against South Korea or US interests. I wonder if Barack will send them a mean letter.
The White House publicly warned Conservatives to ‘watch what they say’ about Barack’s Supreme Court Nominee. Was that a threat? If they speak out against this racist, they will pay what price Barack? He’s already threatened CEO’s, Auto Makers, Power Companies, hedge funds, bondholders; so why not opposition politicians. Barack will bully and attempt to discredit anyone who dares oppose him, just like a good little tyrant should.
Funny thing happened yesterday; someone brought it to my attention that my reasoning against Supreme Court Nominee Sonia Sotomayor was fundamentally flawed. Gee, I didn’t see that coming! Apparently, my neo-con beliefs and warped sense of fairness has blinded me to the realities of racism. Did you know that ‘people of color’ can not be racist? Did you know that only ‘white people,’ because they control ALL the money, can be racist? Wow, thanks for enlightening me! This new awakening forces me to challenge all that I believe to be true! Is the sky really blue? Did we really go to the moon? Is Hillary Clinton really Harry Reid in drag? Is Ted Kennedy really smarter than Spongebob? Is that Donald Trump’s real hair? Does the Rosie O’Donnell pork chops and vodka diet really work? Does the Earth really revolve around the Sun or Barack Obama? Do you detect a little sarcasm?
When the world sinks to this level of chaos it’s easy to see why so many people choose to ignore the world’s realities. Rather than attempting to understand the issues and form an opinion about them, they retreat to their little cave and watch Dancing with the Stars. The old saying ‘Ignorance is Bliss’ has never been more true than it is today. The sad fact is, these uninformed sheep that meandered into the voting booth are the reason we’re in this mess. Reach out and wake someone up today, its ok to smack them if you have to, they just might thank you later!

Is this what our nation has come to? The president, as widely anticipated, selects a nominee because of her race and gender? The nominee then turns out to be a racist? The nominee has stated in her own words that judges set policy? The President says she has more qualifications than anyone currently on the Supreme Court? Is being a self absorbed racist a qualification for the Supreme Court? You’re probably asking where I’m getting all this. Well, I’m getting it from her own words. Sotomayor stated,
"I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”
Well, I didn’t know that Latina women were wiser than some ‘white male!’ Can she provide some scientific data to back that up? I thought we were all created equal? Somehow the fact that Latina women are superior to white men had escaped me. If a similar statement had been made by a ‘white male’ there would be riots in the streets, but because she’s a minority we’re just supposed to swallow this prejudicial garbage? Go ahead, read the statement again and tell me I’m wrong!
Sotomayor has stated,
"I simply do not know exactly what the difference will be in my judging," she said in a speech in 2001. "But I accept there will be some based on my gender and my Latina heritage."
A judge is supposed to apply the law to a situation, not their own personal bias. Is this ‘wise Latino woman’ smarter than our Founding Fathers? The Constitution gives the Legislative branch the duty of creating laws, not the judicial branch. We do not need a biased activist judge on the Supreme Court for the next 40 years.
This confirmation hearing will be the first real test of this new Congress, will they do what’s right or what the Regime wants?

So, apparently I’m not the only one lately telling Obama to go pound sand.
North Korea has moved away from negotiations and, in defiance of the world, tested a Nuclear Weapon and new short range missiles. Then again today, despite the UN condemnation of the previous test, N. Korea tested 2 more missiles.
Iran announced on Monday that despite Obama’s offer to join the talks, they were no longer willing to discuss their nuclear program. They stated that the issue is no longer open for discussion. Ignoring Obama’s offer for direct talks, Iran offered instead, to debate other issues with Obama at the UN.
Israel, in defiance of Obama’s demands to the contrary, stated it would continue to expand settlements in the disputed territories. Israel is currently holding a week long nationwide drill to prepare the population for war. Israeli leaders have apparently come to the conclusion that the US will not stop Iran from going nuclear.
British Banks and Brokerages are threatening to dump US customers and cease to trade shares of American companies, because of an Obama tax proposal. Obama’s plan would make those foreign banks legally liable for collecting income taxes on their American clients.
Ford motor company, the only US automaker NOT under government control, just exceeded its sales goals. What else needs to be said?
Despite all the money poured into the economy, the Market has gone no where. Regardless of all the rhetoric of an improving economy, Wall Street traders aren’t buying it. Mounting job losses, lower corporate profits, and rapidly rising deficits are keeping many traders on the sidelines.
Are they overreacting, or are they the smart ones? Suburban survivalists of all backgrounds are preparing for economic collapse. Now you always have those folks who are hunkered down in their bunkers waiting for the end of the world, but they are no longer alone. More people than ever before are planting gardens and storing extra food. Some people apparently have taken to raising chickens in their suburban back yards. Gun sales are smashing records nationwide. Wal-Marts, in some areas, actually have waiting lists for ammo. Manufacturers of survival gear are unable to keep up with demand. Even big box Home Depot has moved their Gun Safes next to the Generators. Right or wrong, these folks have lost all faith in this government’s ability to manage the nation’s affairs.
Recently several groups pooled their funds and purchased bill boards in major cities questioning Barack’s place of birth. The media has completely ignored this issue, but it refuses to die.

A reader called me out for attacking the left in yesterdays Rant. First of all, this is a conservative site, period. However, he did have some valid concerns. He made the point that there are folks in both parties who need to get the boot and I should stop pointing fingers. I partially agree. If they voted for a bailout, they need to go. If they voted for this budget, fire their butts. If they support Cap & Trade, send them packing. If they support Socialized Medicine, kick them to the curb. The fact is, the Democrats (the left I was referring to) have almost unanimously supported these Obama proposals, where most Republicans have opposed them. What is your elected official doing? Do you even know how they voted? Regardless of party, if they support this Socialist Regime, they must go. Get involved folks; it’s our future they’re toying with.

On 5-15-2009 I told you to expect the White House to announce its Supreme Court Nominee early to distract attention from the Nancy Pelosi firestorm; hate to say I told you so, but I told you so (sort of anyway). Since that time Obama has named a new minority NASA Chief, and hinted his Supreme Court pick (presumed to be a minority) will be revealed this week. Democrats blocked an attempt by Republicans to investigate Pelosi’s statements, and then Nancy rebuffed reporters stating she would no longer comment on the subject. Nancy is now in China and The Regime still has nothing to say. So that’s it? They decide they don’t want to talk about it so it’s no longer an issue? Is this what you would consider a transparent government? Where is the media outcry of cover up? The Speaker of the House, second in line for the Presidency, attacked our intelligence services and it’s a non-issue? Guess what folks; it’s only a non-issue if we allow it. Please, please call your elected official. Remind these clowns who they work for and demand San Fran Nancy be held accountable. Remind them of their oath to serve the people and preserve the Constitution. Nancy lied to us and lied to Congress, do not let her off the hook.
Bottom line.
The left is starting to show weakness; their own infighting creates opportunities for us to push back against this radical Administration. Their foreign policy has been disastrous. Their fiscal policy has been disastrous. Their ‘Climate Change’ policy promises to crush our economy. Their social policies punish hard work and reward failure. If they worked for you would you be pleased with their accomplishments? Well people, they do work for you! Drag their butts in the office and put them on notice; shape up or start packing!

I’m so very confused! Barack now admits we’re broke and operating in ‘deep deficits,’ but blames Health Care for it? Did he suffer a blow to the head? Where is the logic? How is one related to the other? We’re broke because the government hasn’t interfered in the Healthcare industry enough? Gee, I thought it had something to do with all the money he’s spending. Silly, silly me, I should have known better than to think for myself. Maybe Barack is right, maybe if we nationalize everything, then all our problems would magically disappear! Maybe we should nationalize housing because gas prices are too high. Maybe we should nationalize the oil companies to control the price of fast food. Maybe we should nationalize the fast food industry to address teen pregnancy. Maybe we should nationalize the media to address the growing issue of Rosie O’Donnell’s bloated rear end!
Barack will continue this little shell game to try to dodge the facts, but the pea is still under there somewhere, and my guess is it’s in his head! Barack is preying on the ignorance of the populous to sell his socialist agenda. The Great One is counting on a lazy and disinterested population to support his relentless pursuit of a Socialist America. Barack’s plan for Socialized medicine is just one more step in his plan to control every aspect of our lives. Citizens who give up their freedom, in exchange for government dependence, are no better than slaves. When the Regime claims it’s a lack of government control that has caused our problems; be afraid, be very afraid!

The US Dollar plunges again. Why would the perceived value of the US dollar drop against other currencies? Like many of us have said in the past, you can’t just keep printing money without consequences. You can’t go on a spending spree when you’re broke! The World Markets recognize the massive amount of debt we are accumulating and it makes them nervous as well. They wonder, like we do, if the US will ever be able to pay off these debts. If your income drops and you max out your credit cards, your credit score drops because your ability to pay is diminished. There is now a strong possibility that our Nation may lose its AAA credit rating. When you try to borrow money, and you’re considered a bad risk, you pay higher interest rates. The US will have to offer higher rates of return to entice foreign investors (CHINA) to buy US treasuries. The higher interest we have to pay on debt, the higher and faster the deficit grows. We are mortgaging our future. This out of control spending must stop!
As the value of the Dollar drops the cost of everything goes up! This, my friends, is called inflation. If the 40% drop in the value of your investments wasn’t enough, now what little is left, just won’t go as far. Now, to add salt to the wound, let’s throw in a few dozen ‘targeted’ taxes and a huge energy tax to further reduce your true income. Bottom line: you will work harder for less. I guess this is what Barack calls “A New Era of Responsibility.”
Have you ever had one of those ‘friends’ who are constantly borrowing money from you, but never pay it back? You know the kind, they work 20 hours a week, but always have the latest toys and some grand plan for success? Unfortunately, as unpleasant a task as it might be, eventually you have to cut them off for their own good.

The Democrats have brought a speed reader in to read the Cap & Trade bill? Republicans in Congress demanded the 900 page bill actually be read before coming to the floor for a vote, so the Dems brought in a speed reader! This government just gets stranger by the day. Ask yourself why they are in such a big rush to pass this very controversial legislation. Isn’t our legislature supposed to debate bills before they vote on them? We obviously can no longer trust our elected officials to work in our best interest. Just like the Stimulus package, they want to get this into law before people really understand what it is. They are counting on the ignorance of the American people. A recent poll showed that only 24% of people interviewed knew what Cap & Trade was. Just a reminder, Cap & Trade is a tax on emissions. Just like the Stimulus, they know the longer they wait the more opposition they will face. The Administration must have this Bill passed. The Democrats’ economy crushing $3.59 Trillion budget relies on $686 Billion in revenues from this energy tax, without it the deficit will soar that much higher. People, this is an energy tax, plain and simple. Remember that promise of tax cuts for 95% of Americans? Here is a tax that will affect 100% of Americans. Your electric bill will go up. Your heating bill will go up. Gas prices will go up. The cost of everything will go up. They can call it whatever they want, an energy tax is still an energy tax. They are sacrificing our economy and our future at the alter of Al Gore and the flawed science of Global Warming. Please, please, please, speak up. If this sham of a bill actually passes, you will certainly wish you had.

This Bill is bad for our State and bad for our Country. You can choose to stand with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, or you can stand with the citizens you swore to faithfully represent. Make no mistake; your decisions at this critical time will determine your political future. It is not your job to ‘know what’s best,’ it is your job to represent the citizens of our State. If you vote in the best interest of the people, you can count on our future support. Should you decide not to listen to our concerns, we will elect someone who will.

That pesky Iran just won’t behave. Iran tested a missile on Wednesday that many analysts believe, could not only hit Israel, but US military bases in the area. The response from the White House, not surprising to many of us, was inexcusably timid. White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Barack has “long been concerned.” Gee, really? Wow this guy really means business! Another US official called it a “step in the wrong direction.” It’s comforting to know that the Regime has the situation under control. Obama, having promised to meet with Iranian officials ‘without condition,’ seems frighteningly unwilling to condemn this terrorist country. I find it strange that the commander in chief would tour the world ‘apologizing’ for our country, but continually plays nice with self proclaimed enemies of the US. So what about our Israeli allies? Barack has given them zero political support while giving $900,000,000 to Gaza. Iran, while calling for the destruction of Israel, continues to develop a nuclear weapon and the means to deliver it and the US does nothing to stop it. We have left Israel out in the cold. Our one true friend in the Middle East, surrounded by its enemies, is left to fend for itself. Times like this sure make me miss Ronald Reagan. Remember when Libya tried to throw its weight around? Remember how that commander in chief handled the situation? What would Reagan have done about these wacky Iranians?

So what to do? We have an Administration, and a lap dog Congress, bent on spending us into bankruptcy. I’m often asked, “What can I do, how can I help?” Getting involved, letter writing, protesting, etc. has never been very attractive to Conservatives, but our silence is at least part of the reason we are in this mess. Some of you have emailed or called your elected officials only to be frustrated by receiving a scripted response, form letter, or nothing at all. Persistence pays my friends. It has been my experience that the more you write; the more your name appears on their reports, the more response you will get. After months of barraging my Senators with emails, I am at least starting to get their attention. One of my Senators, a good conservative, has now given me a direct contact number for one of his aides, yippee! This number does not appear anywhere else that I could find, and keeps me from having to go through the switchboard. So what’s the point? Don’t give up! Keep hammering them, keep their lines jammed. If they did a good job by voting correctly on an issue, tell them! If they were a schmuck and voted to support this crazed Administration, tell them! You don’t have to write a novel every time, a simple one or two sentence email has the exact same result. Not sure what to say, send them the Rant, I do! Expressing your support or disgust with them may even relieve a bit of stress; I have to admit, telling the White House to go pound sand was a great feeling.
So what else can we do? Get involved, and get your friends involved. Are you active in your local political party? Are you active with the Tea Party protests? Do others around you know you are active, have you educated your friends and co-workers about what’s really going on? Do you know your elected official’s voting record? Do you even know who they are? The push back against this Regime has just begun; there is a lot of serious work being done behind the scenes. These are serious times folks, our Constitutional Freedoms are under relentless attack from the left. Will you fight to protect your rights, or will you sit silently on the sidelines?

Mr. Obama, I still can’t stomach calling him President, announced his new standards for vehicle emissions. With the US auto industry in disarray and facing imminent collapse, Barack slaps them with MORE government regulations. I can’t ever remember a time when the government has regulated an industry into prosperity. This Administration, because they know what’s best for us, is bent on forcing Americans to drive tiny little cracker-box cars. What’s more, these regulations are estimated to add approximately $1300 of additional cost to each vehicle. Wait; is that another tax being levied on the American consumer? Please take a moment and think about this, is this freedom? Is this Regime really a representative government? Are Barry and his buddies in Congress really governing by the ‘Will of the People’ or by their own agenda? Is this the Republic our Founding Fathers fought for? Is this the freedom that American soldiers have fought and died for? Have you always dreamed of an America where Big Brother decides what’s best for you? If American’s really wanted to drive these little zit cars then the microscopic ‘Smart Car’ would be a big seller, it is not. This action is just another part of Barry’s ‘I want to be European’ go green plan. Despite huge new oil discoveries in Alaska and the Dakota’s, the Obama Regime will not allow an increase in domestic oil production, which would obviously reduce foreign dependency. The Regime is attempting to impose Cap & Trade legislation, similar to Europe’s failed attempts, which will cause energy prices to soar. Looking forward to gas at $7 a gallon anyone? How far will they go, will they completely push us out of our cars like most Europeans? Will they fulfill Al Gores dream of Americans living in Solar Powered Caves and eating grass? When Barack trades Air Force One for a bicycle, followed by his bicycle riding media entourage, I’ll sell my Lincoln, till then go pound sand pal.

Joe Biden said what? Nancy Pelosi said what? Barack said what? What is going on here folks? This is the best the Democrats have to offer? These power hungry egomaniacs just can’t seem to keep their mouth free of their own feet! Joe Biden, in an attempt to be clever, reveals the location of a secret bunker used by Vice President Cheney on 9-11. Call me silly, but wouldn’t this be the same bunker old Anchor Joe would use in case of an attack? He gives away a National Security Secret in order to seem witty? Maybe he should just give out the Nuclear Codes next time!
Poor Nancy Pelosi, she was only trying to attack the previous Administration, but apparently had to lie to do so. Her childish attempt to show leadership in the House has turned into a political firestorm. Wide eyed Nancy accused the CIA of lying to Congress, but despite her multiple attempts to weasel out of it, it looks like its Nancy who is caught in a lie. Senator John Boehner, among others, is challenging Pelosi to apologize and finally tell the truth.
Barack, defender of the little people, ignored protestors and took the stage at Norte Dame for a commencement speech at the Catholic University. The Great One said those on both sides of the abortion issue need to work together to reduce the number of abortions. Barack continues to support unrestricted abortion in spite of a new Gallup poll showing the majority of Americans are now Pro-Life. Barack has been clear in his support of Federally Funded abortion and recently eliminated funding for abstinence programs. Barry’s attempt to ‘slick willy’ his way around the subject will certainly cost him credibility with both sides. Barack should have simply declined the invitation to speak, but his ego just wouldn’t let him.
So what’s the point to my rambling? The Democrats lost two consecutive national elections because they selected self important, egomaniacs Al “save the planet” Gore & John “I shot myself in the butt for a Purple Heart” Kerry as their candidates. This time they swept the election, but filled the White House and Congress with the same type self absorbed politicians. These folks are more concerned with their own personal agenda than what’s best for the country. They will say or do anything necessary to advance their own political standing. Their ridiculous antics have fortunately backfired and left us with an excellent opportunity to knock them down a notch. Their bumbles make our case for us, remember, the “adults are now in charge.” Please make sure your elected officials understand that you are paying attention, and will hold them accountable for their actions. Listen to the people, or in 538 days we will send you packing.

Happy Sunday my friends! I hate to be too overly dramatic on a day when most folks finally take a break from their weekly grind, so I’ll make a feeble attempt to keep this one positive. Oh wait, here’s one for you, Miss California! Despite her best attempt to be sensitive to the subject, honestly expressing her opinions about gay marriage cost her ‘The Crown.’ Our progressive, tolerant, lefty friends attacked this young lady for expressing an opinion they didn’t like; sure sounds tolerant to me! If you are penalized for your opinion, by any organization, isn’t that discrimination? Could the personal attacks on her by the liberal bloggers be considered hate speech? Fortunately for her, all the hate unleashed on this young lady by the left has actually opened up a lot of opportunities for her including a co-hosting gig on Fox & Friends. It’s a strange world we live in these days, the media falls all over themselves for psychos such as Madonna, Christina Aguilera, and other circus freaks, but attacks anyone who attempts to hold on to some moral standard. As I’ve stated here before, what you do in the privacy of your own home is your business; just don’t expect the rest of us to be your personal cheerleaders. You want to hook up with a pigmy goat and a three toed sloth at the same time, fine just don’t expect me to throw you a parade! Lefties take note, tolerance is a two way street; play nice or get run over.

The Flip-Flopper-in-Chief? Can anyone explain to me what is going on here? Let’s take a moment to review some major shifts in Obama policy. His Campaign promise was to start pulling out of Iraq immediately; reality - he’s sticking with the Bush Administration timeline of 19 months. His Campaign promise was to close Gitmo and end the military tribunals; reality – he has now decided to stick with the Bush Administration policy of military tribunals with some changes. His Campaign promise was to be a transparent Administration; reality – he decided to withhold ‘torture pictures’ and refuses to release the two CIA memos that show the results of the ‘torture.’ The Speaker of the House is in the midst of a media fire storm, but he refuses to comment on the issue? Does this sound transparent to you?
Here’s the really big shocker, Barack has now stated that the government’s deficit spending is unsustainable! Really, I believe that’s what we have been saying all along! Remember those Tea Parties on April 15th, the ones that Obama claimed he knew nothing about, as I recall we were saying the same thing there Barry! What Barack seems to forget is that this is his deficit spending! Barack can no longer blame the spending on anyone other than himself and the democratically controlled Congress. So where is all this rhetoric coming from, did he just awake from a coma? Did Barack’s evil twin craft this $3.59 Trillion budget? Was it all just a bad dream? Will Barack throw out this massive waste of taxpayer money? No, I don’t believe for a minute that he will actually reduce spending, I think his statement is far more sinister than that. In my humble opinion, Mr. Obama is setting the public up for sweeping tax increases. I believe he will subject us to hundreds of ‘targeted’ taxes to pay for his social engineering experiment. Is this what you signed up for? Regardless of how you voted, take a stand now against this. Please, put your Senator on speed dial. Hold them to task for every vote. Demand they remove Nancy Pelosi now! Demand they block every proposed tax increase. You pay these people’s salary; make them earn their pay check!

Oh Dear, Ms Pelosi just can’t seem to get her story straight. Remember not so long ago, referring to the Democratic Party take over of the House & Senate, Nancy told us “the adults are now in charge!” Really? Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi looks less like an ‘adult’ and more like a little kid caught in a fib. According to Nancy, those evil folks from the CIA and the Bush Administration were doing terrible things to terror suspects without her knowledge! Well, it looks like Nancy’s glass house has some holes in it. Her accusations and push for special hearings and a “truth commission,” have earned her some unpleasant attention. The CIA, which she accused of lying to Congress, produced documents proving old Nancy knew about the interrogation techniques much earlier than she claimed. Ms Pelosi has changed her story on this issue over and over and I don’t believe we’ve heard the final version yet. So Nancy, exactly when did you know; 2007, 2005, 2003, or 2002? Maybe Madame Speaker is right for once; maybe we do need a ‘truth commission.’ Maybe the Justice Department needs to find out what this ‘adult’ knew and when. Maybe a special ‘truth commission’ can find out why the Speaker of the House lied to Congress and the American people. The BO Administration has unsuccessfully tried to down play the issue in order to avoid the negative press associated with it. Expect Mr. Obama to announce his new Supreme Court Nominee ahead of schedule in an attempt to distract attention from this issue. Do not let Nancy weasel out of this; write to your Senator Today!

Socialized Medicine, who really wants this? I heard some people talking the other day about how great it would be if the government would pay for their healthcare. Really? You want the government to make potentially life changing decisions for you? Would this be the same government that that decided to spend $787 Billion to ‘save or create’ 3 million jobs, and the economy lost 1.3 million jobs? Would this be the same government that decided to save Chrysler and GM by forcing thousands of layoffs? The government has never been effective at managing anything, so what makes you think this would be any different? This Administration is running on unprecedented levels of deficit spending while your Socialized Retirement Plans (Social Security and Medicare) are facing a financial melt down; does this sound like effective management? Do you really want to put your healthcare in the hands of bureaucrats? Do you want some slack-jawed government worker deciding if and when you can see a doctor? Sorry, I’ll pass; I’ll make my own decisions thank you very much. Maybe you would like Big Brother to provide your food and shelter too? Does spending your golden years in public housing sound appealing to you? Have you dreamed of a future where the government provides your food rations? Oh, and no more deciding what to wear to your government job, uniforms for everyone!

Oh dear, what to tax next? I seem to recall a certain campaign promise about 95% of Americans getting a tax cut ($7.70 a week, woo hoo!) I also remember the statement that no one making under $250,000 would be subject to a tax increase. Well guess again my little taxpaying friends, the overlords are seeking to tax your bad behavior! Senate leaders are considering a tax on Soda and other sugary drinks to help pay for Barack’s proposed $1.2 Trillion national healthcare program. If you smoke, drink alcohol, or sugary drinks such as Coke or Pepsi, bad little citizen, you’re going to pay for such bad behavior. So called ‘sin taxes’ are often popular with lawmakers as they are seen to perform a dual role; raise money and discourage bad behavior. The Regime has already increased the tax on cigarettes by an incredible 158%; that should teach you naughty smokers a lesson (will Phillip Morris need a bailout?) Targeted taxes that seek to control behavior are just another attack on personal freedoms. The Cap and Trade tax will force you to use less electricity, drive less, and drive smaller cars. Want to have a beer after work, tax! Sneak out for a smoke break, tax! Have a nice cold Pepsi with lunch, Tax! Where do you draw the line, is there no limit to this insanity? Fast food is bad for you, maybe they should tax the Quarter Pounder; they could call it the McTax! Too much exposure to the sun is bad for you, add the Sun tax! Maybe they should tax risky sexual behavior to pay for STD research; they could tax gay men for (censored). Wow that was close; I need to be more careful I could lose my Tiara for saying that! Wait, they could tax the porn industry to pay for carpal tunnel research! The bottom line is this Regime is seeking to control your behavior and raise taxes at the same time, all under the guise of cutting taxes. They lower the Federal rate, then apply massive targeted increases on items they consider bad, it’s truly death by a thousand cuts. Please take a moment to write those clowns we call Senators.

Great Reader Posting on Obama Birth Certificate Issue

There’s one issue that I have never addressed here, but just refuses to go away. Apparently, there are still active lawsuits in 4 states seeking the release of Barack Obama’s birth certificate. You may say who really cares, what’s the big deal anyway? If Barack really was born outside the US, According to Article 2 of the Constitution, he would be ineligible to hold the office of President. That pesky old piece paper just continues to cause Berry problems. Reportedly Obama has quietly spent upwards of $800,000 fighting to keep his records out of public view (maybe he was in the glee club.) As many of you may know, in an attempt to bury this issue, Barack’s Election Campaign posted what was supposed to be copy of his birth certificate to their web site. The problem is that the document they posted was created with a laser jet printer, which obviously was not yet available in the 1960’s. Here’s my take on this, if this is just some crazy conspiracy theory, why not just produce the documents and be done with it? Why has he fought to keep his college records from public view? Why did Barack’s maternal Grandmother claim he was born in Mombasa (now known as Kenya?) Why has the Senate, which is responsible for verifying his eligibility, refused to address the issue? Why is the Administration refusing to publicly address this issue? Why spend money fighting a lawsuit without merit? Why would anyone put Grey Poupon on a burger? Is Hillary secretly Ross Perot in a dress? Was Joe Biden dropped on his head as a child? I wish I knew the real answer to these questions; I do not. One must wonder why they would allow this issue to persist without addressing it fully, directly and completely. The Administration’s silence on this issue tends to add legitimacy to the claims of his ineligibility. Whatever happened to that promise of transparency?

Have you heard the hate filled "jokes" (video available at the web site) spewed by left wing radical lesbian looney Wanda Sykes at the White House Press Dinner? These progressive, tolerant liberals relished in the personal attacks against Rush Limbaugh and Obama was eating it all up. The left is always quick to ridicule, demonize, and minimize their opponents by labeling them as ignorant, bible thumping, racist, extremists; and have been extremely effective at it. Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinski, Barack Obama's bible since his days as a "community organizer" in Chicago, clearly states their motivation.
Rule 5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It’s hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.
The left has successfully used ridicule and personal attacks against conservatives to take over the Presidency and both houses of Congress. So what have we as Conservatives done to counter this? We attack, and therefore minimize, the efforts of each other! As I state at the top of the web site "you may disagree with some things you read here, that's OK it means you're thinking for yourself." We all have different views of the world and different issues that are important to us; abortion, freedom of speech, gun rights, property rights, energy, small government, lower taxes, strong military, foreign policy, etc. However, instead of supporting each other in working towards what amounts to the same goal, a more conservative government, we fight amongst ourselves. The Tea Parties were a great example of Conservatives coming together with a single mission. However, yet again, clashing egos and infighting amongst some of these groups has led to disarray. We complain about our country racing towards socialism, yet we just sit on our hands. When will we turn our efforts towards the real enemy? When will we focus our efforts on our common distain of Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Barney Frank, Christopher Dodd, Janet Napolitano, Ted Kennedy, and the bias media that supports them? As for me, alarmist or otherwise, I will continue to be as big a pain in their rear as possible. Stand up and put these jokers on notice; represent the will of the people, or start packing your bags!

Allow me to ask you a question. In your "Daily Rants", you take a tone of near hysteria and alarmism. However, your points are not without merit. I spazzed a bit the other day, when I read that the Chinese Premier has stated he is uncomfortable with our ability to repay the debt we owe. When you look at the brewing conflict between state and federal government, if we were to engage in the civil war I think is coming, what would stop China from saying "Ok, we're not gonna get our f'ing money back, let's go kick that ass."?
However, my problem with you is that you HAVE an alarmist attitude, and I see no solutions presented. HOW do we stop this madness before it's too late? What do YOU suggest, Derrick?
First of all, I welcome views from all sides, so I want to thank you for taking the time to contact me.
I do have to take exception with being called an alarmist. I do not believe “Global Warming” will cause the earth to melt. I do not believe melting ice caps will flood coastal cities. I do not believe the government was behind 9-11. I do not believe this is the end of the United States. I do not believe there is a coming Civil War. I do however believe that we have an oppressive, misguided, out-of-control, out of touch government. I do believe we have an arrogant socialist in the White House who has repeatedly ignored and side-stepped the Constitution. I do believe that people need to turn off the ‘Daily Show’ and start paying attention to what is actually going on. I do believe we can use the political process to change the course of our nation and prevent civil unrest. I tell readers, almost daily, to write and call their elected officials. I do believe that if we don’t get involved in the political process, our future is in serious trouble. (You’re talking about a Civil War and I’m the Alarmist?)
Maybe you have mistaken my efforts to get people involved in the political system, or my failed attempts at humor, as alarmism. Maybe you simply disagree with my view of the world and that’s ok, but I will never apologize for speaking my mind. Like any other media, if you don’t like it, change the channel. I am not, nor have ever claimed to be a gifted writer; this is simply the ‘Rant’ of an average Joe reading through the daily news. This started as just a fun email between friends, and has now grown far beyond anything I could have anticipated. Maybe it’s grown too big or too fast, I will let the readers decide. I will be the first to admit that exercising your right to free speech will earn you a mailbox full of nasty hate mail.
If you’ve bothered to read this far, I will tell you what I suggest needs to be done to correct our current difficulties.
First and foremost, the government needs to return to the guidance of the Constitution. The Federal government was never intended to have the far reaching powers over the states that it currently thinks it does.
The government needs to reflect the will of the people, not what they think is best. Do the majority of people think we should spend billions on the unproven science of ‘Global Warming’ during a recession? Do the majority of people think we should quadruple the deficit? Do the majority of people think we should eliminate military programs to pay for more ‘social’ programs? Do the majority of people want terrorists released from Gitmo? Do the majority of people want us to double the census budget so we can count illegal aliens? Do the majority of people want us to give the Palestinians nearly a billion dollars? Do the majority of people want us to give Pakistan $10.5 billion dollars? The government needs to learn kitchen table economics, this is how much we have – that’s how much we have to spend, period.
Slash the Global Warming garbage from the Budget.
No more bailouts - let the market decide. If people want to save GM, they’ll buy a GM car. No more government intervention in the market.
Slash, not double, foreign aide.
Eliminate all Budget Earmarks
Slash, not increase, funding to failed social experiments such as Welfare, Title One, Public Housing, and the Earned Income Credit.
Simplify the tax code, flat rate across the board, no exceptions.
Increase, not decrease, the number of people who actually pay taxes.
Slash the pay and benefits for elected officials.
Slash the budgets of all Congressional offices.
Pass and enforce term limits for all Congressional Officials.
Eliminate, not increase, the Capital Gains Tax to encourage investment.
Reduce, not increase, taxes and regulations on American Business to encourage expansion and add new workers to the tax rolls.
Do not spend billions on Nationalized Healthcare.
Increase the use of domestic energy while encouraging, not mandating, alternative fuel sources.
Eliminate the Dept of Labor
Eliminate the Dept of Commerce
Eliminate the National Endowment for the Arts
Eliminate the Dept of Education
Eliminate the Dept of Housing and Urban Development
Etc, Etc, Etc
Pet projects and waste are rampant throughout both Federal and State governments, it must stop. We must hold our elected officials accountable to the will of the people. We must exercise our rights as citizens and let our voices be heard.

The Chinese threat continues to grow. A US Navy surveillance ship has once again been harassed by Chinese ships. This time the Chinese “fishing vessels” came within 100 feet of the US ship. Why would a US Navy ship allow aggressive ships to get this close without a military response? Are they under excessively restrictive rules of engagement? This is reportedly the 5th incident like this in just 2 months. The threat from China grows by the day and we’re in no position to complain. We need China to continue buying our debt so Barack can continue to spend it. China has increased their military spending by 20% while Obama is cutting crucial military projects in favor of welfare spending. China is becoming more reluctant to buy our Treasury Bonds, as Barack becomes even more determined to spend us into bankruptcy. America’s appetite for cheap Chinese goods coupled with reckless deficit spending has put us in a no win situation. No worries though, I’m sure Barack will apologize to them next, he’s fully convinced everything is America’s fault anyway. Make no mistake, China is not our friend; never has been, probably never will be. China and others are testing this new BO Administration and so far they have to love what they see. The foreign policy action of this Administration gets them a well deserved F. We have distanced ourselves from allies such as Israel, Poland, and the Czech Republic; while mortgaging ourselves to the enemy. The next time you’re buying cheap Chinese junk at Wal-Mart, remember who you’re really giving that money to. Stop the madness before it’s too late!

The most transparent and ethical administration ever! I think we all remember those big promises from Barack “The Messiah” Obama. So how’s he doing on that? Well, he does seem more than willing to release top secret memos that put our nation at risk; all in the name of transparency. He’s planning to release “torture” pictures and reveal the identities of the agents involved; all in the name of transparency. But wait a minute, according to an article buried on the Drudge Report; Obama refuses to release the photos from that embarrassing NY photo shoot. You know the one I’m talking about, where New Yorkers watched Air Force One being chased by F-16 Fighters past Ground Zero. The same one they used to scare New Yorkers half to death by refusing to allow local authorities to warn the public. This little stunt that cost the taxpayers $338,835, reportedly for new publicity photos, will now be buried as quickly as possible by the Administration. The BO Team stated that although the photos are not “classified” they will not be released to the public. Wait, is this what Barack considers Transparent? Let’s see if I understand this policy correctly; if it’s embarrassing to political opponents – release it regardless of the consequences. If it’s embarrassing to the Current Administration – bury it and bury it deep, regardless of what the taxpayers think. I think we should force them to release the photos, we paid for them and they should belong to us. Funny, just like the Stimulus Package and so many other actions in Washington, they spent our hard earned money and now have nothing but debt to show for it.

ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, finds itself in hot water again. Nevada authorities filed criminal charges against ACORN and two former employees on Monday for facilitating voter registration fraud. The charges surround the quota system used by the “political advocacy” group for voter registration workers. The group required employees to register a minimum of 20 new voters per day or lose their $9 an hour job. The group also had a “bonus” program of $5 extra per shift for those who exceeded their goals. ACORN has been investigated and charged many times in the past, yet the organization continues to receive billions in taxpayer dollars. How is it that an organization that openly supports and campaigns for political candidates receives funds from the government? Do you see a little conflict of interest here? Should Congress be giving public funds to a group that helped get them elected? Oh, I guess it’s because they support liberal politicians who just happen to hold the purse strings. Oh, did I fail to mention that Barack Obama worked for ACORN in Chicago? Did I fail to mention that ACORN openly campaigned for Obama? Did I fail to mention that Barack’s new appointment to the Federal Appeals Court also worked for ACORN? Did I fail to mention ACORN tried to disrupt the Tea Parties? Did I fail to mention that ACORN played a major part in Al Franken’s contentious bid for Senate? Did I fail to mention that ACORN will receive over $4 Billion from the Stimulus Package? I ask you again how a group under investigation in a dozen states is getting our tax money. This is how our elected officials spend our hard earned money? Write these bozos today, put them on notice!

Is China cutting up America’s Credit Card? The Barack Obama “No Money Down” late night infomercial might be heading for trouble. The storm that has been looming in the distance for sometime may be upon us sooner than any of us expected. Congress and the BO Administration are in an uncontrolled spending frenzy, but the source of those borrowed funds may be drying up. The largest purchaser of US debt to date has been China as others such as Japan, Germany, and Saudi Arabia have simply stopped buying it. So what happens if China stops buying our Treasury Bonds? Where will Barack get the money for his social engineering experiment if the government credit card is maxed? The budget deficit for the current year already stands at almost $1 Trillion, nearly 1/7th the gross domestic product, a level not seen since WWII. But wait there’s more; to keep the government spending on plan through September, Congress will need to borrow about $2 Trillion for the year. But wait there’s even more; last week the House and Senate both approved Barack’s $3.5 Trillion 2010 Budget proposal which contains unprecedented levels of deficit spending. But that’s not all; this soaring level of debt will eventually force interest rates up increasing the amount the government has to pay just in interest on the debt. Folks, basic common sense has been ridiculed in Congress and vetoed by the White House, only we the citizens can bring it back to Washington. But if you call right now; you just might make your elected official reconsider his/her political future. Hold them accountable for their votes; let them know you are paying attention. If we keep doing what we’re doing, we’ll keep getting what we’re getting. Get involved, stand up and fight!

Obama’s next power-grab, control the Federal Courts. Obama’s first step in reshaping the Federal Courts in his image, was to appoint a radical left wing judge to the US 7th District Court of Appeals. Barack has stated he wants to appoint judges who show “empathy,” funny, I thought they were supposed to make rulings based on the law. Obama has nominated Judge David F Hamilton, whom he calls a moderate, to side step that pesky old Constitution and rule according to his twisted view of the world. The Court of appeals is already familiar with Judge Hamilton as they have had to overturn many of his wacky and unconstitutional rulings in the past. This ‘moderate’ was called ‘unqualified’ by the American Bar Association when Clinton first appointed him to the Bench in 1994. This ‘moderate’ Judge ruled in 2005 that the Invocation in the Indiana House could not refer to ‘Jesus Christ’ or ‘Savior’ because that violated the 1st Amendment, but use of the word ‘Allah’ was acceptable. Judge Hamilton has been a fund raiser for ACORN, which would make him a socialist not a moderate. Judge Hamilton has worked for the Indiana chapter of the ACLU, which would make him a member of the radical left not a moderate. Barack is intent on putting his left wing stamp on the issues of abortion and affirmative action, and he’s wasting no time. The Liberal Senate has left 17 Federal Judicial seats unfilled for 2 years refusing to even bring Bush nominees to the floor for confirmation hearings, now you see why. Obama will appoint one radical after another to poison the courts against the Constitution. With ACORN and the ACLU controlling the highest courts in the land, where will WE find Justice? This is scary stuff folks; be afraid, be very afraid.
On April 1st and again on April 29 Senator Orrin Hatch led a walkout of the Senate Judiciary Committee by all Republicans to protest Democrats trying to ram this nomination through. Please take a moment to write your Senator and demand they support a filibuster of this appointment.

Left wing Congress continues to attack the Constitution. A new hate crimes bill passed the house on Wednesday by a vote of 249 – 175. This bill proposes to add gender, gender identity, disability, and sexual orientation to current hate crimes legislation. Similar laws in Canada have been used to sue churches and publishers of the Bible for ‘hate speech.’ Such legislation threatens our first amendment right to freedom of speech and freedom of religion. This trash bill also violates our right to due process and equal protection under the law. Hate crime legislation, by its very nature, is unconstitutional. Any law that grants ‘special protections’ to some citizens but not to others is discriminatory, period. Last time I checked murder, rape, assault, and such were already against the law. Let’s look at some examples of how hate crimes legislation is currently applied. If a black man is murdered by a stranger in Orange County California, it could be assumed that he was killed because he was black and therefore it’s a hate crime. The perpetrator could be tried twice, once for murder and then again in Federal court for a hate crime, adding as much as 10 additional years to his sentence. If a white man is killed on the Southside of Chicago, it could be assumed he was killed because he was white, however because he is not a minority, it is not considered a hate crime. The same crime was committed, same act, same reason, yet the penalty is different. Someone please tell me how this is equal protection under the law? Regardless of race, color, creed, or religion we are supposed to be equal in the eyes of the court, but we are not.

Let me be clear, I really don’t care what you do in the privacy of your own home, you can spoon with water buffalo if you like, doesn’t affect me. However, when you try to legislate your ‘differences’ into special rights, it does become my business. The Thomas Moore Law Center is warning that this hate crimes legislation is simply a precursor to modifying the civil rights bill. Under such a civil rights bill, no one could be excluded from the hiring process for any reason other than a criminal conviction. Companies, schools, businesses, organizations and even the Armed Forces could no longer set standards for employment based on appearance, attire or behavior. Do we really want a Marine wearing eye shadow patrolling the streets of Baghdad? How would you like a transgender man in a dress teaching your child’s kindergarten class? How about a member of NAMBLA (North American Man/Boy Love Association) teaching your son’s PE class? Don’t you dare object you bigoted fascists, you’ll get sued! I know I’ll get a LOT of hate mail on this one, but so be it; wrong is wrong! Call your loony Senators now, be silent no more!

Watching the news these days is like something out of an old Twilight Zone episode. Barack stands up yesterday, after Chrysler filed for Bankruptcy, and tells us this is just another step in a well structured plan. Please, if they planned for Chrysler to declare bankruptcy all along, why did they ‘loan’ them $8 billion? Obama proudly boasted that Chrysler had agreed to ‘merge’ with Fiat giving it access to ‘small car technology.’ Does this guy think he’s a CEO? Wait, I thought all CEO’s were BAD? This ‘President,’ who has never run as much as a car wash, somehow thinks he is the most qualified guy to run the banks, car companies, health care industry, and YOUR life. Oh, and in case you missed it, as part of this Chrysler bankruptcy the government has committed another $8 billion of the taxpayer’s money. It is a sad day for the US auto industry; this merger ultimately means the death of Chrysler. Do you think you will see Fiats running around US streets? Do you think Chrysler will live on as a ‘small car’ company? In my humble opinion, Chrysler is done and huge job losses will result. GM, if it survives, will be merely a shadow of its former self, or just another bloated government agency. Government meddling in private industry has once again proven to make the situation worse not better. When will this madness stop? Will we stop this government power grab before it’s too late? Is Barack really smarter than experienced investors, managers, or captains of industry? No my friends he certainly is not. If the government really wants to save the US auto industry they only have one option left, Ford. Ford is the one US automaker who has refused to take bailout funds and therefore refused to submit to Barack as their overlord. Hey Barack, here’s an original thought for you; quit taxing and regulating American businesses to death and they won’t need a bailout! Quit wasting the taxpayer’s money, reduce Ford’s corporate tax from 35% to ZERO, and get out of the way!
